The Big Cat Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 So says Laconfora: @JasonLaCanfora Nathaniel Hackett has a 2nd interview for Rams OC job this week. BUF wants him back and WSH and JAX also interested in him for QB coach
YoloinOhio Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) Hmm interesting. To work with Roman as an assistant OC? Man, Doogie looks even worse now Edited January 26, 2015 by YoloinOhio
eball Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) Look at your source. Believe it when someone credible reports it. Edit: I would be fine with Hackett returning as an assistant, by the way. Edited January 26, 2015 by eball
YoloinOhio Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Look at your source. Believe it when someone credible reports it.cant argue there
Kelly the Dog Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) The fact, if true, that Whaley and Rex and Roman, after discussing this, genuinely want Hackett back, rather than an indication of same ol' same ol', is a further searing indictment of Marrone and his terrible handling of the offense, IMO. Edited January 26, 2015 by Kelly the Dog
QB Bills Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Pretty sure LaCanfora is misinformed about this, as he's been known to be when it comes to Bills news. Having said that, I wouldn't mind this. Hackett got shafted here by Marrone.
YoloinOhio Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 The fact, if true, that Whaley and Rex and Roman, after discussing this, genuinely want Hackett back, rather than an indication of sae ol' sae ol', is a further searing indictment of Marrone and his terrible handling of the offense, IMO.that was my first thought as well
Deranged Rhino Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 The fact, if true, that Whaley and Rex and Roman, after discussing this, genuinely want Hackett back, rather than an indication of same ol' same ol', is a further searing indictment of Marrone and his terrible handling of the offense, IMO. 100%
K D Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 sure, we will take Hackett back. why not? those water bottles aren't going to fill themselves
eball Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 The fact, if true, that Whaley and Rex and Roman, after discussing this, genuinely want Hackett back, rather than an indication of same ol' same ol', is a further searing indictment of Marrone and his terrible handling of the offense, IMO. All we need to do is look back at Fred's comments after the season...he basically came out and said the playcalling wasn't Nate's.
The Big Cat Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 Whenever the coaching carousel roars back up, I'm always a true believer in continuity. IF (consider the source, sure) he comes back, I think it also tips their intent for EJ, too, leaving him squarely in the plans. All we need to do is look back at Fred's comments after the season...he basically came out and said the playcalling wasn't Nate's. ...speaking of sources and their reliability.
NoSaint Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 has an OC of a departing staff ever come back as a position coach?
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I look forward to the continued calls for his firing in the future!!
eball Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 ...speaking of sources and their reliability. Meaning what? Fred's reliable, or Fred's unreliable?
DPR4444 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Is La Confora still "shocked" the Ravens didn't take Marrone for OC?
The Big Cat Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 Meaning what? Fred's reliable, or Fred's unreliable? meaning that quote really resonated for a reason. when fred speaks, people listen. he epitomizes "realiable." particularly in instances like these.
GaryPinC Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I believe it. I'll bet Hackett would really learn a lot having Roman show him the ropes and could take over in 1 to 2 years because Roman really wants to be a HC. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/07/greg-roman-believes-time-will-come-for-head-coaching-job/ Honestly, for now it might be a step back for Nate but would probably accelerate his career.
John from Riverside Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I want to know who is responsible for that 1st down dive up the middle play that we run 90 percent of the time....... I hate it I hate it I hate it
cale Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 La Cantfora...still amazed there is pro football.
Dorkington Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) I said a while back I'd be for him staying on as as assistant OC... he definitely had plays that got players open at times, and the package play concept works nicely when setup. BUT, he has terrible blocking and run schemes. He's a very young guy who needs experience play designing for the NFL. Unless... you know... all of the above is on Marrone, then !@#$ if I know what Hackett brings. Edited January 26, 2015 by Dorkington
