Beef Jerky Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Welp @BrandonSpikes51: IM CONFUSED ABOUT THE JUSTICE SYSTEM THESE DAYS !!! He is also confused about not being a starter but wanting starter money.
Beerball Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Agreed. It's normal for his closest friends/family to actually believe him. It's dumb. But it's still normal. I believe you.
ChevyVanMiller Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Thank God. Now may his name be forever forgotten by football fans. He deserves to wither away is obscurity.
negativo Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 He is also confused about not being a starter but wanting starter money. Former Gator and Patriot teammate staying true to his boy. If he lacks the intelligence and common sense to be able to separate team loyalty from sociopathic a mass murderer, well, I'm damn glad his time here is over.
FistingBot Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 ...from NFL superstar to a life of salad tossing.
NoSaint Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I don't blame the guy at all. His friend and former teammate was convicted of murder. It is pretty natural to not be happy about it. I can't imagine that ANYONE would hold that against him. You are supposed to support your friends. It takes real character to support people when they are at their worst. I know that is the kind of person that I want in my corner when things are not going well. well im in semi agreement, there are a few compounding factors that i think work against spikes. 1) hes known and been close to AH for a decade and across that time hes had bar fights, drug issues, gun issues, and multiple shootings/murders. These issues date back essentially to the day they met. If they are close enough for him to put himself out there publicly, a natural question is how much of this stuff did he know and/or possibly partake in himself (not saying shootings but drugs, gun culture etc... the pounceys got roped in some, for an example) 2) while he may be a great friend to have, teams are hiring him. would you hire a guy that will be wearing your logo in front of microphones that doesnt have the judgement to log out of twitter today, even if he is upset?

I guess to answer the question it would not phase me. Spikes has his own resume at this point and it speaks for himself. He has been edgy on the field, a leader in the locker room, a good community guy & run stuffer and poor in space. That is the only thing that I would be judging him on. If he had a history of accusations, arrests and such (or even some) I may be hesitant. At this point I think that his resume is what it is. It may not be smart for him to publicly speak out but I really can't imagine anyone holds that against him. We have all been in situations where our mistakes have alienated people. It is really easy to be there for someone when it is easy. The point that I was making is that in many ways it speaks to Spikes character for still being there as a friend. I am sure that a lot of people distanced themselves from AH (Spikes included). There is a difference between distancing from someone and abandoning them. It does not mean that he agrees with what was done, or even condones it. It simply means that when times get tough he is someone that you can count on to still have your back. I know for me the people that are like that have been my best friends for years.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 I bet all the air was let out of the courtroom CBF
YoloinOhio Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 oops not a good luck for a free agent looking for a jobhe probably believes him, and also is referring to the fact they don't have the murder weapon. Most people presume he is guilty based on the evidence presented. But people close to him - his fiancée, his friends - likely can't get mentally to the point where they think he actually did it without that proof. Of course, Brandon thinks he knew him. But no one probably really knew him. He was living a double life, it seemed, and had severe psychological issues that are unfathomable for many.
C.Biscuit97 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 The Patroit Way! He might be one of the dumbest humans ever. He is from the mean streets of ESPN so I understand.

I agree. This is kind of what I was getting at. I understand what Kirby is saying that Spikes is just supporting a friend, but Hernandez was admittedly deep into the guns and drugs and living a bad life and if I was Spikes I wouldn't want to be associated with anyone that's in that scene. You have to have better judgement and say wow he really was a bad guy maybe I should back off my public comments relating to this

Smart move? likewise not.

Golden Wheels Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 It's only 1.6 miles to the correctional institution, but it might as well be a million....

All that I was saying is that his poor judgment on this probably isn't going to impact his employment.

I personally wouldn't advise Brandon to tweet about the decision either and he since tweeted he was indeed logging off - but they apparently support the guy. I think he will be back with the Bills anyway and might be waiting to sign or something. He was RTing stuff about the Bills and Rex Ryan yesterday and his nameplate is still on his locker.

C.Biscuit97 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Hopefully, this starts the curse of the Patriots and 86 years of irrelevancy. Like how the Pats were 15 years ago when they had half as many fans? active players who were drug dealers (pounds of MJ), murder suspects and cheaters. I wonder just how much Bill knew? He was a scumbag at Florida. The Patriot Way is a joke.
