I would love that draft especially the first two picks not sure about WR Hill though.

the only AZ game I watched all year was vs. Oregon in the PAC 12 championship and that was at a bar with the sound off so I have no idea about the kid, but his size is decent. We basically need a replacement for the "mike Williams" position as it was supposed to be - a WR with size who can high point the ball and be a red zone threat. I would prefer to go the vet route but if they get great value on a guy in the draft that's ok too. Edited by YoloinOhio

Just the little bit of research I've done tells me there's little chance Walford makes it to pick 50.

way too early to know anything specific but Daniel Jeremiah predicts 3rd rd and he does this for a living.

@MoveTheSticks: 3rd @stevefroman: @MoveTheSticks what round do you think the Miami TE Walford will go?

I understand what you're saying but he's clearly catching eyes. Mayock said he's the most explosive pass first tight end in the draft.

Miami TE Clive Walford is making a lot of 1f4b0.pngtoday.

I'm not sure when he said 3rd round but I don't think 3rd round means you're making money for yourself with how you're showing.

The top 2 picks are really good. But this draft only makes sense if the team addresses the guard issue big time in free agency. Tight end is a need always good to get another playmaker out on the offense. Going for a big bruising back in round 3 makes sense too although I would prioritize other positions but if Yeldon is sitting there at 81 the value is too good.

Yeldon would be the thunder to Bryce Brown's lighting, while Freddie would be the all purpose back. Dixon would slide back to being depth and special teams.

I would think the plan to address the offensive line in terms of prioritizing would be through free agency first and the draft second. I think they'll want someone that they've seen play in the NFL and could reasonably think they know what they're getting. Having to rely on a rookie to come right in and start although not unreasonable it's more of a risk.

On the other hand it's certainly been proven that other positions for example running back rookies can make an impact.

100% agree with this. They already have some developmental OL. They are going to be looking for a more proven commodity this year.

they are fun to discuss. I'm fatigued with deflate-gate at this point!

I can't wait to do the simulated mock drafts by myself, haha. Great time waster.

for some reason (maybe because I want it to happen) I think they pick up a vet WR in FA. Not a big name but one that can be reliable and had history with a successful team. I just think they have very young WRs in the top 2 and need that solid vet who doesn't need to learn pro route running, etc. And can just step in a be a reliable possession WR. No one flashy but maybe like a Miles Austin type.

I'm hoping for Eddie Royal to come in and play the slot, but I am obviously partial to my Hokies

oooh I think SD will try to keep him, but that's an intriguing name. He is really clutch and fast. I would like to get a big red zone threat, but I do like Royal. Edited by YoloinOhio

All in all though I agree that our targets in the draft, this year even moreso, depend entirely on free agent acquisitions. Considering the talent available in the FA pool we could feasibly plug any/every hole in the roster before the draft even rolls around.

i would agree with exception of RB. IMO we should get a guy on a rookie deal rather than paying one. Then when his deal is up, draft another. I don't think they should sign CJ unless he comes very cheap. But even if he does, I think we would still need to add a power workhorse RB anyway and then we would need to cut one of Dixon, Fred, brown. I'd prefer going with Rookie, Brown, Fred, Dixon and also add a FB. Maybe get the FB in FA because that would be cheap. And I would be ok with a RB in the 2nd. Coleman or Cobb.

I agree with everyone who said OL in FA. 100%.

If we lose Hughes we need a pass rusher too.

Chances of giving Ray Rice a chance at league minimum? Rex was in Baltimore when Rice first got to the league, and Rex does absorb a lot of media attention. Not ideal, but a thought. I bet he'd run angry

Is TJ Yeldon really being considered a 3rd round talent??? I get RB has lost a lot of value lately, but 3rd round???

I'd have to agree with Dr here. Saying we could get him with the 81st pick in the third round is the equivalent of saying that there will be 7-8 RB's taken ahead of him in the draft. It's not lost on my that Gordon is a sure first round pick, with Gurley likely going late first round or second round. I also get that a lot can happen between now and the draft, but if someone were trying to be reasonable at this point, they could have said David Cobb or Jeremy Langford in the 3rd and I wouldn't have missed a beat. Both of those guys are the same big bruising style that you're talking about with Yeldon, who should go at least a couple picks ahead of them.

He was in major decline before he beat his wife. Once a rb hits a wall, they are mostly likely done. He's not worth the stress of trying to decide if you want to root for him or not.
