YoloinOhio Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 I would still take Manziel and hope that he could correct his desire for preparation, showing up on time, and not partying. I wouldn't be extremely hopeful, of course, but I'd take the chance. I view him as a good "buy low" candidate. Or put another way, if the question is would I rather take a chance on one of the second-tier 2015 QBs or Manziel, I'd take Manziel. EJ or Manziel, I'd take Manziel. curious to hear your reasons whyAlready suggested a fifth. Maybe EJ's work ethic will rub off on him.i thought you were kidding. You're not kidding?
FireChan Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 curious to hear your reasons why i thought you were kidding. You're not kidding? First round talent, maybe he gets a wake-up call after getting shipped out. I mean, where's the risk?
YoloinOhio Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 First round talent, maybe he gets a wake-up call after getting shipped out. I mean, where's the risk?waste of a roster spot.
Captain Hindsight Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 waste of a roster spot. and money and a circus and he sucks
YoloinOhio Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 and money and a circus and he sucks The Bills could just have his paychecks automatically deposited to Chippewa St. Helps the economy!
FireChan Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 waste of a roster spot. waste of a roster spot. Oh, I didn't realize we had so many QB's on the active roster already.
YoloinOhio Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Oh, I didn't realize we had so many QB's on the active roster already. season doesn't start for 8 months. Aim higher.
FireChan Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) season doesn't start for 8 months. Aim higher. Like Jordan Palmer? Or a 5th round Jeff Tuel clone? No stone unturned doesn't mean no stone unturned (except the ones I don't like). Edited January 23, 2015 by FireChan
DC Tom Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I'm just puzzled at how he found so many opportunities to party in friggin' Cleveland.
NoSaint Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 It's amazing how quickly the NFL and fans give up on young QBs.The issue is he hasn't even started to develop due to either his own stubbornness, or addiction. Even if he can overcome that, he's starting at zero and was a long shot even if dedicated.
YoloinOhio Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Like Jordan Palmer? Or a 5th round Jeff Tuel clone? No stone unturned doesn't mean no stone unturned (except the ones I don't like). i said aim higher - if he is worse than those two then that's sad.
FireChan Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 i said aim higher - if he is worse than those two then that's sad. I can aim for Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger all I want, but we aren't getting them.
YoloinOhio Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 I can aim for Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger all I want, but we aren't getting them.So...you think Manziel is the best QB that could be available in the offseason?
FireChan Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 So...you think Manziel is the best QB that could be available in the offseason? No. I think he may have the best reward/risk ratio. I think that, if he got his crap together, he could be better than Mark Sanchez ever will be.
QB Bills Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 He's played like two games! You definitely kick the tires on the guy if he can be had for cheap.
Ted William's frozen head Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 It's amazing how quickly the NFL and fans give up on young QBs. Sometimes, it's warranted.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 @pecrawleynfl: The NFL love affair between Jimmy Haslam and Johnny Manziel was as brief as it was torrid. http://t.co/16J5ACE2Ca Inside Johnny Manziel's Rocky Rookie Season http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=12216266&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FEEVSuIrc08%22%7D Cool Pegs and Rexy will love him here
Solomon Grundy Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I assume you mean a 5th of cheap gin LOL I'm just puzzled at how he found so many opportunities to party in friggin' Cleveland. Well if he did come to Buffalo, like Chan and Barbarian hopes for, he could only party at Applebee's!
YoloinOhio Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) LOL Well if he did come to Buffalo, like Chan and Barbarian hopes for, he could only party at Applebee's! the partying is what it is, I can live with that if he gives 100% when it's time to work. He doesn't give close to that. He doesn't care about being on time or working hard or preparing. He isn't the type of person who can succeed as an nfl QB. How long are people going to hope he "grows up"? He isn't 12. He's 22. I don't think he will change because character isn't coachable. If he was a WR, it would be ok to take a flyer on a guy like that. QBs are held to a different standard. The Browns 6th rd pick Connor Shaw played better than he did because he actually knew the plays. I don't care that he was drafted in the 1st. Not worth the roster spot or headache.
