Jason La Canfora: ‘Manziel Situation Is Beyond Troubling’

February 5, 2015 10:04 AM

some people see in Manziel a 22-year-old, first-round draft pick who isn’t taking his job – or his life – seriously. Even worse, he’s had no NFL success to speak of.

Learning a playbook? Reading defenses? Recognizing blitzes? Shoot, the Browns are just hoping Manziel is sober on game day.

No. Being an alcoholic and liking a drink are not the same thing.

That's my point. And why I put alcoholic in quotes. This is a kid who likes to party hard on the weekends but now he needs to be checked into Betty Ford?

Being too drunk to meet your work responsibilities, which were literally just showing up to the facility to get treatment, suggests that things are a step or two more serious than you suggest.

He's 22! Wasn't everyone an "alcoholic" at 22?

I dont think everyone was screwing up their professions... Well Manziel didn't really screw anything up since he was never going to be a NFL QB anyway.

its why I was glad I found the link

Johnny "Walker" Football was being pulled out of bed still drunk

Troubling indeed.... Manziel, Gordon, Gilbert. Someone in another thread was asking to take more chances with guys of questionable character. This is where that can take you if you're not very careful. What a mess.

get his life in order, become come back player of the year in the NFL, with a long career , odds are not in Cleveland That is what I hope for him, if that happens, it would shut-up a lot of the h aters on this board, sadly it won't shut all of the h aters up

you call people haters because many of us can all see with our own eyes what a TRAIN wreck he turned out to be?

Read the Jason La Canfora story, or are you implying he's a hater too?

He did it all to himself.

This guy is an owner. Lol.

@NateUlrichABJ: Haslam on drafting Manziel "I don't know how much of Johnny's personal life was known by everybody then."

:w00t: that's funnier than anything in the joke thread!!!
