    • Nothing
    • Monetary Fine
    • Forfeit of a Draft Choice (or Choices)
    • Both a Fine and Draft Choice(s)
    • Forfeit of the game to Indy (Indy plays in Super Bowl)

The underinflated ball issue is similar to the pine tar incident in MLB. The punishment should be similar. No fine, no suspension. The points scored with non regulation equipment should be taken away. Meaning the final score of the 2015 AFC conference Championship should show as

NE 0

IN 7

they will lose a 3rd rnd pick and get $500,000 fine

This is about right; though I'll say a 2nd and $500,000.

The season is over in 9 days. No one will care about the NFL or any of its sub-plots in 10.

Vacate the AFC East title, (this means nothing in reality, but Bills fans will love it as the Bills are now defacto Champs). Their 3 #1 draft picks go the the AFC East in order of this years finish. Jets gets 2015, Miami gets 2016 and the Bills get their 1st round 2017.

No other team will do something that silly again as not only does it hurt you... it helps your division rivals.

I am a firm believer that the NFL should mirror College Football for repeat offenders and put a team on probation for at least one year.

Now, while this has happened to Penn State (most recently), Ohio State and others for much more deviant acts, if an NFL team is caught cheating once, fine them OR they forfeit a draft pick at the leagues discretion.

If a second offense happens within a designated time frame (say under the same regime i.e. GM, Head Coach etc.), The team is allowed to be labeled a division champion (if they win enough ball games) per usual, but are disqualified from being in the playoffs, and the other wildcard team would take its place. Much like in CFB, teams on probation with good records still were banned from being bowl eligible for that time frame.

The last team to beat the Patriots* should go to the super bowl. It's only fair.

I like it. Wouldn't we have to bring back Marrone , Hacket and Orton though?

I think we should force Brady to divorce Giselle and make him marry Roseanne barr

Don't sweat it, she will probably resemble her in a couple of years and Tom will dump her anyways.

Please comment on any specifics you think may happen.

Nothing will happen. Its the Super Bowl and the NFL will simply announce they will control the balls being used. They will also make a rule change in the offseason to control the balls in all games. Nothing will happen in relation to the Super Bowl. As much a we want to see the #Deflatriots nailed for this, the balls did not play a role in the outcome of the game. Blount destroyed Indy on the ground and that's just that.

Big points for creativity!!!

Another observation on this--think it was Aikman who said the no equipment manager would alter the inflation without direct instructions from the QB. If they did that on their own they would be fired--QBs are very particular about the game balls, and do not want them altered once they have approved the 12 game balls.

Given that, and his "I don't believe so" response, it really is adding up to Brady being the one responsible. Other NFL players have come out and said Brady is behind this, and should come out and admit it is his fault.

What should happen:

Loss of 2016 1st round pick

Tom Brady suspended for 2016 season.

Bill Belichek suspsended for 2016 season.

Bill Belichek barred from the Hall of Fame for repeated cheating infractions.

What will happen

Monetary fine of several hundred thousand or possibly a million or two. Considering how much money an NFL franchise makes, this is like a parking ticket.

Compensatory picks will not be awarded to the Patriots

Loss of a mid round pick

The NFL should recognize this for what it is: a complete embarrassment.

Goodell may be good friends with Kraft, but there are 31 other owners in the club. Will he really drop the sledgehammer on the Cheatriots?
