I could only find the full scene version, but I love the juxtaposition of the Chicago ballad (1:20) and the pending attack on the Republican Guard stronghold in Three Kings.

I've never been one to jump on the latest "in" thing that America feels the need to overplay (zombies, bacon, etc) but this is a highly underrated zombie flick and well worth the price of admission for Woody Harrelson alone.

Great point about Shawshank.

My all time favorite movie

Mine too...and 2nd place isn't really even close to it.

Here's a classic. Beautiful song performed by a beautiful voice. It's ideal for Dorothy's character/'dreams' as well.

Great thread. already a lot of good ones in here.

The obvious one from Shawshank would be the opera scene where Andy plays Mozart via the sound system. It's right on many levels but I'm gonna go with a different one. I've always loved the moment where the Warden realizes Andy had been digging his way out for years. This small clip of music accompanies the anxiety and shock (portrayed by the warden) perfectly. start at the 3:00 minute mark. I think it's fantastic. The cinematography isn't too bad either.

So many good ones to choose from Shawshank. I've owned that soundtrack for years and know the score like the back of my hand.

"Brooks was here" song to the brooks parole and suicide is as haunting as you can get.

Just the dramatic main theme for when red meets andy in Mexico is really powerful too.

Bob Dylan, Nine Inch Nails, Patsy Cline, NWA. Very eclectic, and every single track fits perfectly in the movie.

I sure wish I could figure out how to embed videos like the rest of you!

Kenny Loggins has written a bunch of 'great' movie songs. Here's a piece of low hanging fruit for this thread...but who watches this, hears the song, and doesn't want to go 1,000mph?

Just thought of a great one -- what a scene. Not for the faint of heart (or those who haven't seen the movie).
