WEEI...putting this is the NFL's court.

"Pats playing from a position of strength..if they had any thing we would know by now"

Not talking to Brady means its prolly the officials fault...NFL cant stand Belichick..

Calling the calls on ESPN idiots...they think it's over.

The old "Move along, nothing to see here folks" defense that is so popular in the Boston media.

That last question is ridiculous" when you left the stadium on Sunday,is the the last thing you thought you would be discussing?"

Why no, even though i just spent a half hour denying i knew anything , I was expecting this would come up Monday morning

Christ, even HoFWatkins not that dumb  .

How do these people get press passes

That's so they can write, "this is the last thing Tom Brady thought he'd be discussing." As a title

Yeah, Brunell, Bettis, and Dawkins are all part of the conspiracy.

you know as well as anyone their jobs are to say stuff to create ratings not accuracy. the 3 could be totally on the up and up, or they could be drama queens about it. i still want espn to have brunell throw the passes!

I'm not comparing Brady to OJ in any way except this one:

The only thing you really needed to know about OJ's guilt, was that he didn't spend every waking moment trying to find out who was the killer of his beloved wife and who got him arrested and thought of by everyone as the killer.

The same thing applies here. Brady knows the problem in the media now. If he didn't know a thing, he would be spending every moment trying to find out who fukked him over, who was responsible for sullying his perfect image, who was trying to take down the dynasty. There would be no other reasonable response.

That was a PATHETIC press conference. He DOESN'T SQUEEZE THE FOOTBALLS WHEN HE IS TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THEY ARE PERFECT?!!!!! Holy schit that was pitiful.

I think this is pretty off. My gut feeling? Brady has been doing this for years, and no one ever checks. Is he breaking the rules with those balls? Yes, but I'm guessing that's the only sort of ball he knows at this point. Given how large organizations treat "small stuff" that never raise controversy (i.e., PSI level), I think it's highly likely that the refs or whoever it is who is supposed to check these things never, ever do it. I actually believe him when he says that he doesn't think about it. He's been doing it forever, and no one ever complained before.

You didn't watch? You could see them (Bettis, especially) hesitate, as though they weren't sure they could give an honest opinion. Then they each picked up steam as they realized "Hey, the producer and director are going to let me say this!"

They normally get instructions to not cast the NFL in a negative light. Clearly they were expecting to be told to tone it down, and weren't.

The refs checked the balls and they were 12.5. They checked them again and they were 10.5 or under. 11 out of 12.

You believe Brady never squeezed a ball to find out if it was "perfect" and to his liking? :wallbash:

It's not that anyone is checking it or not during the game.

It's that if Tom was as deliberately picky about 3 or 4 different ball variables as described by him, he would notice a different feel to a ball during the game IMMEDIATELY. He made it out like he wouldn't, and in fact, didn't. That contradicts his earlier made statements, when he was being honest.

He said once he gets a ball "just right" he makes sure no one touches it. Why?

That implies he has a great deal of touch and feel for a football (of course he does; he's one of the best NFL QBs of all time).

So then to later say "it's no big deal, I don't really notice...I just grab a ball and throw" is just BS and patently lying.

Do you think Eric Clapton doesn't want his guitar "just so"? I'm a guitarist and can tell you for a fact he does. All great guitarists do.

They say Ted Williams was once given like 10 bats and one was 1/2 ounce out of synch with the others; Ted immediately identified it.

Tom Brady can probably immediately identify a 12 vs. 12.5 vs. 13 PSI football.

He said he doesn't really notice. That's just BS.

I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say.

You believe that they checked them with a measuring device? I certainly don't. I don't think they ever do it. I think they feel them and say "fine" -- if even that. Do you spend much time around mid-level employees in large organizations? I do, and I truly think that this has been going on for many years.

I can't believe I'm becoming a defender of Brady. I certainly don't mean to be. The Pats clearly broke the rules. But the wild conspiracy mongering that's going on here is beyond the pale, and the giveaway is the apparently widespread belief that mid-level people in large organizations are conscientious perfectionists. I can assure you that most are not.

Brady said he could never tell in a game if a ball was deflated or inflated or not.

Either Bill and Tom are total idiots or they are lying. Guessing the latter. I can buy Bill's claim of ignorance more than Tom's though.

I'm just glad no one was buying it for a second. Brunnell, Bettis and Dawkins basically called it ridiculous.

Ditto, especially with how picky QBs are per multiple stories over the years. No way someone like Brady is just like LOL ITS A BALL

Come on. I've been trying to argue that he's been using the same balls for years. That's his benchmark for measuring. No one ever raised the issue before because no one ever went after them on the issue.

There may have been some effort towards plausible deniability (especially with Bill), but I doubt it and regardless, someone has to be responsible.
