BillsFan-4-Ever Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Someone should go up to the ball boy and say I will pay you $100,000 to tell the truth. if they blame the ball boy it opens a whole new ball of wax. Why did the ball boy try to undermine Brady and the team?
Kelly the Dog Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 if they blame the ball boy it opens a whole new ball of wax. Why did the ball boy try to undermine Brady and the team? The only real possible scenarios is Brady getting the ball boy to lower them or getting someone else like an equipment guy to. I don't see how else it could have happened. Brady is 99.99999 percent directly involved in this. Feel free to round up. It's just a matter of how he did it. There is zero chance someone did it on their own.
eball Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Poor ball boy, I hope they give him some hush money... And I hope he talks **** anyway. He was sent on an all expenses paid trip to the Bahamas with his family two days ago. Good luck locating him.
4merper4mer Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) He was sent on an all expenses paid trip to the Bahamas with his family two days ago. Good luck locating him. If Aaron Hernandez were still around he would know exactly how to handle this. Edited January 22, 2015 by 4merper4mer
aussiew Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Tom Brady press conference moved to today at 3.45EST on ESPN.
Fadingpain Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) So Tom Brady is having a PC today at 4:00pm? [EDIT: 3:45pm] That should be a lot more entertaining than Bellichick's, especially now that Bellichick has established the "go talk to the skill guys, they are the ones who are picky about the balls" defense for himself! Tom Brady: "What? There are rules governing air pressure in footballs? Who knew? Not me! I guess they all felt a little "off" but I just assumed it was from the cold weather. No one makes a fuss over this stuff! I couldn't really tell a big difference anyway!" Edited January 22, 2015 by Stopthepain

BB said they keep the balls on the lowest end. If Brady said anything that would make them illegal.
DC Tom Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Watch some no name equipment guy take the fall for this and free BB and the Pats of any wrong doing I can see BB saying he knew nothing about it and letting some poor guy take the wrap CBF And Kraft will cut him a nice check, and take it out of Belichick's salary.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 And Kraft will cut him a nice check, and take it out of Belichick's salary. Exactly CBF
DC Tom Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 see now we have this commentary where joe blow couldnt tell the difference, and other stating theyve seen it and the balls were "saggy" on the today show. where is sports science when i need them?!?! I'm working on it. I've got a reasonably temperature-controlled environment, and a decent quality air gauge. I need to build a rig to measure the deflection of a football under the force of a grip...I might get to it tonight. And I need a damn football.
YoloinOhio Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I don't see any way that the "I don't know, ask Tom" media strategy wasn't carefully crafted by the Pats PR guy and will lead to something exonerating them both after Brady's presser. Or maybe Brady will show up in a dress to deflect attention.
NoSaint Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 BB said they keep the balls on the lowest end. If Brady said anything that would make them illegal. ball boy: hows this feel? Tommys best possible answer: good but can you get it a bit softer? ball boy after adjusting: hows this? Tommys best possible answer: perfect, lets stick as close to that as you can get me. instead of "i want it 11.5 and do it after the inspection if needed: realistically, the latter is probably closer to the conversation but the former would be the type of defense likely to be used was all i was saying.
Fadingpain Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 You can be accused of murder and say "the dog did it" all you want (ball boy) but that doesn't mean it's a valid defense. This is going to come down to the political will of Goodell and what he wants to do about this mess. Who does he want to go after? How big of a penalty does he want to levy? Who does he want to make pay the post? Does he feel anyone on a personal level betrayed him or made him look like a monkey here? Were specific warnings given to individuals in November and now they clearly betrayed those warnings? If the NFL and Goodell decide it's time to go after Brady, Belicheat, both, or anyone else, they can. The fact that the defense offered the Ball Boy as a sacrificial lamb may be construed as being meaningless. The NFL can simply go with a Respondeat Superior type philosophy. Let thy master answer. This usually means an employer is legally responsible for the actions of its employee. I can see Goodell (if there is political will to go this route) stating "Belicheat is the captain of the ship and Brady is the QB who touches the ball on every play; it must be presumed that both knew of this, and the actions of the ball boy transfer to them." It's not like this is some legitimate court of law or that there is any precedent here.
Deranged Rhino Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 At one point, he did give Brady a gentle shove under the bus... Really...a guy who knows the rule book well enough to create an "ineligible receiver" formation doesn't know the process for inflating and managing footballs during the game???? @ProFootballTalk: Brady pushed for rule change that allowed visiting teams to provide their own footballs http://t.co/i8WguRJYy5 Brady warned us after the Divisional Round where he laughed at the Ravens for not knowing the rules: "“Maybe those guys gotta study the rule book and figure it out. We obviously knew what we were doing and we made some pretty important plays. It was a real good weapon for us. Maybe we’ll have something in store next week.” http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/01/tom-brady-ravens-study-the-rule-book Add to it Brady pushed for the rule (along with Manning), and then knowingly broke them. The guy is classless. I hope a reporter has the balls to throw this quote as well as the laughing "I don't know anything about that" after the game he threw out.

Record it with your phone, unless you worry the government will notice stuff about your table or carpet or floors in the b.g.

Or maybe Brady will show up in a dress to deflect attention. I don't know what he could say but I can definitely see this being the plan. For BB to throw Brady under the bus like he seemed to do is too strange. Whatever they say though, I think there has been far too much chatter to ever get this genie back in the bottle.

It's not like this is some legitimate court of law or that there is any precedent here. That almost guarantees that Goodell will do the exact opposite. Legal scholar, he ain't. He's not even a rational thinker - he'll fly by the seat of his pants, according to what "feels" right to him. He always does; that's what got him in the **** with Ray Rice.

If I was Tom I wouldn't be making ANY comments about how the ball felt, and having a ball boy make multiple PSI adjustments to get it how I like it. Why would you go down that road at all?
