DC Tom Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Yup. Investigation was simple. Now we have to decide on the disciplinary action. Lifetime ban for Belichick and Brady, including removing eligibility for the HOF. And all broadcasts of Patriot games in Boston will be blacked out in favor of a rebroadcast of Superbowl XLII.

Maybe we could coerce Kim Jong-un into dreaming up some creative, sufficient punishment for the crime. You know, as a deterrent to others.
billsfan1973 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 They took some air out of their balls!? NO WONDER The Colts couldn't stop LaGarret Blount. And he could hang on to it better
bladiebla Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Consequences, if any, will come in the offseason, with a full explanation from the NFL as to what happened and why punishment was (or wasn’t) imposed. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/19/nfl-taking-game-integrity-issues-very-seriously/ it's a conspiracy...lol Cheatriots* and consequences dont make me laugh. What are they going to do? Tell the refs not to help them for one game?
filthymcnasty08 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 remember this... Harbaugh says NE ran 'illegal' plays and the thread..."Cheatriot at it again" http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/175255-cheatriot-at-it-again/ some of the same haters in both threads.... hilarious. Wow you mean people that consistently regard cheating in the same light across multiple instances of cheating? You're really on to something.
Wesdawg Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) I'd be surprised if this didn't blow over in a week. Reminds me of the deer antler spray controversy exactly two years ago right before the Super Bowl. Unless someone proves that the Patriots tampered with the game balls after halftime, this seems like the kind of story that reporters will hype up so they have something to cover leading up to the big game. Just my opinion. Edited January 20, 2015 by Wesdawg
YoloinOhio Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Just saw this is a top story on Inside Edition. Deborah Norville cares. Lol
Fadingpain Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yup. Investigation was simple. Now we have to decide on the disciplinary action. Given the nature of the crime, I say castration for Bill B., Brady, and anyone else who touched the illegal balls during game play for the Patriots. This will teach football personnel in the future on other teams to mess around with balls.

beausox Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 In the forties the bears ? beat Washington 73- 0. Spammy Baugh was asked if a sure td was dropped during the games and would it have made a difference? Slinging Sammy replied". Why yes the score would have been 73-6!
3rdand12 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Wow you mean people that consistently regard cheating in the same light across multiple instances of cheating? You're really on to something. Some folks are just stubborn . let it go. we should all cheat and the world will be better off. the spoils go to the winner not those who uphold the rule. Give in people.
K8prisoner Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 what's this world coming to when a ball boy can't read a pressure gauge, and I sure that under/over inflated balls have been used in NFL games in the past, But because it's the Pats it's a outrage in some narrow minded folks minds Seriously , taking the high road ? What crsp do they need to do ? Video tape the other teams signals and relay them during the game in illegal radio transmitters. So, human nature is basically good and we haven't been put here as a test for logic to triumph over selfish greed and our base nature? Well sheeit. We are just paranoid in the face of made up seemingly overwhelming evidence that doing the one thing that would help Marcia and mr sportsmanship overcome the weather on a few key plays . Thanks , I feel stupid now that you cleared that up .. Wow . Some people will never believe they were burned and .. You are also right that three or four plays with different outcomes could never affect the outcome of a game . Thanks. Reason cured me .. Hilarious

Unless someone proves that the Patriots tampered with the game balls after halftime, this seems like the kind of story that reporters will hype up so they have something to cover leading up to the big game. Just my opinion. They won't , just like there is no truth that the jets tampered and talked to marrone before he told us to F off . They are hoping this doesn't last til media day . Maybe they will get lucky and another body will turn up in the Hernandez trial or teddy brewskis will punch Rachel Nichols and take one for the team .. This does actually seem more petty and prankster like than stealing signals or manipulating a substitution rule to gain competitive advantage because of insecurity. Whining , I'm not advocating that , obviously just the opposite .. I am saying recognize you have been repeatedly wrong by a cheat and be prepared to catch him and kick his ass this time .. This is a thread to admit that billy b is what he is and to not let him ever do it to us again and hopefully give him a dose of payback. Or do you propose to put a yellow jersey on him like lance and pretend all the charges are delusion and do nothing but laud praise on his lying asz
K8prisoner Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Ok. Allowing the same person to continue to get over on you is way more chickenshiite than speaking the truth to wake the few left that believe that he isnt constantly cheating like a self justifified delusion. He is like a shoplifting addict .or junkie You just have to watch him all the time . I'm sure it's epidemic in the world .. He is just good at it . I would rather not say a word at all as long as I believed his . true character was common knowledge .. And treated him like the little child he is
ko12010 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 What I find interesting is this stuff way, way up-thread about allegations that came out at the time of video taping scandal. All that stuff someone posted in italics. It suggested Brady had a 2nd frequency in his helmet and that Bill B. or whoever else as talking to him right up to the snap of the ball, on an unmonitored channel (so they could say incriminating things without fear of reprisal) and it violated the "no radio 15 seconds before expiration of game clock" rule. NEVERMIND PSI LEVELS IN BALLS. THIS RADIO CRAP IS INTERESTING! What measures are taken at NFL games to inspect players' equipment before, randomly during, and after games? I'm guessing NONE. What sophisticated electrical engineering consultants are brought in to monitor the airwaves during an NFL game, in stadium? I'm going to say NONE. What specialist consultants are used before every game to inspect the telecom equipment used by the teams (coordinators up in the booth, coaches on sidelines, players' helmets) to try and make sure nothing strange is happening with the equipment itself. I'm guessing NONE. What specialist consultant (MOTOROLA?) is used as a neutral party to manufacture ALL EQUIPMENT USED BY ALL TEAMS assuring that it is all the same, can only do what is legal (can't broadcast on 4 channels) and is deliberately designed to be able to be monitored easily for tampering? I'm guessing NONE. I'm not a conspiracy nut! All I am saying is that if you want to alter the outcomes of football games, don't play around with an inflation needle and footballs. Play around with telecom equipment and give key players on the field key information at key moments so they can better make decisions. Imagine Kyle Orton dropping back in the pocket with good protection on a given pass play. He is looking to his right and locked on a covered receiver. He doesn't even turn to the left side of the field. In the meantime, a "spotter" up in the booth shouts into his head "LEFT LEFT LEFT" and this makes Kyle turn to his left and see a wide open receiver and throw him the ball. Receiver catches ball and scores TD. You wouldn't need to luck out with this illegal communication system more than a few times in a game to potentially really help alter the outcome of the game. At other times, it probably wouldn't even work! Humans being fallible and all...I can imagine shouting into the headset of some QBs and telling them "LEFT 20 yards (receiver's name)" or something....and they just ignore it and panic in the heat of the moment anyway...and take a sack. But if you have the right QB...a good one...an experienced one....a calm and confident one....man, you could create a scoring machine by being able to talk to him all through a play. You can also tell him PRECISELY what the D is and what the proper "read" is 2 seconds before the snap of the ball. That is probably the biggest advantage here. I would assume most OCs can read a defense better than most starting QBs in the NFL. Did anyone see Rodgers' face during the game yesterday? The guy seemed amazingly calm and composed the entire game... Can you imagine what he could do with a really sharp offensive mind coaching him constantly in his headset before, during, after plays? This has been my theory w the radio frequencies for years now. Brady is alerted to spots on the field where t turn his attention to. After years it is probably second nature and it only takes a few big plays to completely change a game.
dubs Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I've been trying to not weigh in on this but am just getting sucked in. There are two things about this story that I think are pertinent. First, it's obvious that deflating the balls, if it actually happened, didn't affect the outcome of the game. Second, if the assertion is true, the first point is largely irrelevant because willful, deliberate actions to circumvent the rules should be dealt with. There is absolutely no excuse for that behavior. Again, no idea if it's true. But if so, the damage to the integrity of the "game" if far greater than the impact in the game.
Jim in Anchorage Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Only on this forum would the Pats supposedly using a underinflated ball generate 278 posts. Its embarrassing how much some of you dwell on them.
