BrycePaup4ever Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Why not let him interview with the Rams? He has paid his dues. So much for GB being this amazing place. Anyone could prob cosch Rodgers and look good, but give him a chance to grow. Thoughts? Am i wrong?
NoSaint Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 i think acting like it somehow ruins the image of the franchise is way over the top.... while i like coaches getting the chance to move up, i also understand franchises holding them to contracts.
Captain Caveman Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Green Bay has a history of not letting coaches interview elsewhere, it's nothing specific to Van Pelt.
BrycePaup4ever Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 im guessing the majority of places would let someone interview, the season is over

BillsFan-4-Ever Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 not allowing him ... doesn't that mean they want to keep him, ergo he's respected?
Captain Caveman Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 im guessing the majority of places would let someone interview, the season is over Right, the majority would, but the Packers don't. AVP most likely knew that when he took the job.
YoloinOhio Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Last year the GB QB coach was Ben McAdoo and he was hired as OC of NYG. Not sure if he was still under contract, but they let him go.
BrycePaup4ever Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 wow hypocrites? (typo?) this may seem like a non story though

He had been blocked earlier and had to wait until his contract expired. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/10294415/new-york-giants-hire-ben-mcadoo-offensive-coordinator McAdoo drew interest from teams the past two offseasons, but the Packers blocked him from some interviews because they thought highly of his abilities. His contract expired this year, though. wow hypocrites? (typo?) this may seem like a non story though How are they hypocrites?

rsxfirefighter Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Shocker...making a coach 100% honor a contract they sign when the team has to 100% honor it if they fire him. For as much respect I have for AVP, I applaud GB for being this way.
silvermike Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Coaches are free to negotiate an opt-out in their contracts, as Marrone proved, or a right to interview with other teams for a promotion or whatever else.
Malazan Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 He agreed to the contract. I wish people would stop being offended for other people.
boyst Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Green bay is really a piece of poo organization. Their fans and organization is so over rated its not even funny. They win, though.
BrycePaup4ever Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 they also have a stock option for fans and it snows there zzzzz
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Why not let him interview with the Rams? He has paid his dues. So much for GB being this amazing place. Anyone could prob cosch Rodgers and look good, but give him a chance to grow. Thoughts? Am i wrong? I would say respected, not letting him go means you really want him. He will get his shot maybe here after Roman gets a HC job.
Mr. WEO Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Did they tell him to go home and get his shine box?
wnyguy Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Did they tell him to go home and get his shine box? Nice. lol
