ExiledInIllinois
What land? Have you seen BFLO? I think Catholic Charities owns the most land... ;-P And who wouldn't want fair market value. It would be a blessing in disguise! ;-P

Hmmm... Really?! I guess that's why I am still battling the state of NC for eminent domain and the payout and treatment of the land. You don't have to take their offer. If the state ever asks you money never say anything back. Don't give them one single stupid number that they can base anything on. Eminent domain is quite simple, it's not that bad. 4merper4mer
Eminent domain is quite simple, it's not that bad. It sure pissed off that guy from The Who when he wrote the song about it. "It's a put on, a put on........". Does anyone know the back story on that?

ExiledInIllinois
But its the Government, they know how to better manage resources, land, and wealth than the great unwashed masses. But then you are the one who rails against the unwashed idiocracy. Go figure. And it should strive to do a better @ managing natural resources and land than the private individual... It's been working for the last 239 years in this country. The gov't strives to be a better steward. I simply don't understand why people get so butt hurt. It's like jboyst said about ED. ED, did I just say ED? If anybody knows about that, it's him. ;-P Yes, and tonight we can expect to hear how government has made our lives better and how it can make our lives better still. Chef Jim
But then you are the one who rails against the unwashed idiocracy. Go figure. We also feel that people are allowed to be idiots and the government shouldn't protect them from their own idiocy. But I'm not surprised you don't get that. TakeYouToTasker
No. I get your beliefs. I get your arrogance. I get it very well. No you don't. If you got it, you wouldn't describe it as arrogance; and you'd understand that the more self-sufficient an individual is, the more productive they are. The real arrogance can be found in those who believe they know what's best for society, and feel they should implement it with the force of government. Chef Jim
No. I get your beliefs. I get your arrogance. I get it very well. TYTT put it perfectly. I'm not the arrogant one here. And I'm not surprised you don't get that either.
DC Tom
No. I get your beliefs. I get your arrogance. I get it very well. It's not arrogance to believe that people know what's best for themselves. Quite the opposite: it's the height of arrogance to believe that you know what's best for people. keepthefaith
Who else can make sure an oil company cleans up their pollution after a spill? What's that got to do with eminent domain? Nobody here wants zero government, but many believe in the strict limits of the government as defined in our constitution.
