DallasBillsFan1 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I am a football genius and should be a Head Coach. When the Steelers let this guy go, I suggested we pick him up. But nooooooo! Too many off the field issues. The guy is a stud and I predict he will out perform Marshawn Lynch in the Superbowl. On the subject of RB's, who should we keep? I say Fred, then find a stud in FA or draft (if possible). I'm not convinced Boobie is a feature back. I want to see a bruiser and I think RB will be high priority for Roman.

Boobie was brought in to be a rotational back and ST guy. Bryce Brown was supposed to be the CJ successor and feature back, I think. I still have no idea what our plan is.

Could you please post the link to the thread in which you said Buffalo should pick up Blount? If not, you're full of it.
Max997 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) I don't think anyone is saying Boobie should be or even could be the featured back Blount was cut and cleared waivers so every team passed on him. I would really like to see the Bills sign Mark Ingram Edited January 19, 2015 by Max997

I think we had bigger issues when he became available...like who would get Marrone his coffee in the morning and whether Orton was feeling well enough to get out of bed.
Profitspro Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 NE is a system team and the pieces in the system are put in the best position to win by the coaches. There is no guarantee that if the Bills picked up Blount he would be performing at the level he is at. NE OL was not performing well at the start of the season but they seemed to have fixed the problem, should be an interesting SB with a good offence NE vs a good defence the Seahawks
YoloinOhio Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 His off the field issues were a pattern and included drugs and walking off the field and quitting on his team because he wanted more. carries... when they were winning the game. There were teams desperate at RB who didn't sign him. I think we had bigger issues when he became available...like who would get Marrone his coffee in the morning and whether Orton was feeling well enough to get out of bed. speaking of that guy... @ChrisTrapasso: Source close to Orton told me QB isn't opposed to doing what he just did. No interest in camp, knows team(s) always needs QB in late August.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Yeah, because Blount really would have gotten us to the playoffs. Good thread.
RyanC883 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Duke Johnson from Miami? Or no RB next year, then James Connor from Pitt.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 When Blount got cut, my Steelers friends said, "I bet NE signs him and he goes to the Super Bowl." This was an easy one to predict. Strange move by the Steelers (especially since they ended up needing him in the playoffs). But, there is no way Blount would have been successful anywhere other than NE-- they have the infrastructure to deal with trouble makers.

John from Riverside Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I would still like to see Bryce Brown get his shot.....

It's curious how we fans remember our successful prognostications and recommendations, but forget our failures. I saw Drew Brees play in college and predicted he'd be a good starter in the NFL. Then again, I'm a Boilermaker and may have said the same thing about Scott Campbell. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Bastard Haha; he has really gamed the system.
Green Lightning Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 How many threads is LeGarrette Blount worth? This us the second tonight!
Formerly Allan in MD Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 You're clearly VERY impressive. How come no one else appears to understand that?

/dev/null Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Blount would not have contributed enough to get us to the playoffs. If anything his presence in the locker room would have been a negative on the rest of the team. If Tomlin couldn't keep Blount in line, do you really think Marrone would have been able to?
