217014170 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 In the mid-1990's Seattle was clearly a baseball town at risk of losing their NFL franchise. The entire state of Washington literally begged Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Paul Allen to step in and buy the team. Approximately 20 years later on the other side of the country.................. Let's hope the comparisons don't end there!
NobesBLO13 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Hope it doesn't take 20 yearsBeat me to it.
217014170 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Beat me to it. Well...true...very true.
FluffHead Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 So you're saying buffalo is a baseball town. Got it.
TakeYouToTasker Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 So you're saying buffalo is a baseball town. Got it.The Bisons are a huge draw. Huge.
beerme1 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 The Bisons are a huge draw. Huge. Actually it's pronounce HUGE AH
Mr. WEO Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 If only NYS had literally begged someone to buy the Bills 20 years ago...
RyanC883 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I like the comparison. Hopefully we start winning. Pegs has clearly brought some needed legitimacy to the organization (actually started with Wilson grabbing Mario) by hiring Rex.
217014170 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 I think some of the barriers have definitely been knocked down. So you're saying buffalo is a baseball town. Got it. Actually, no. The point was the job was actually more difficult in Seattle because there is more competition for people's entertainment dollar. Now that money should not be a barrier this should be an exciting time for Buffalo residents. And, actually, the onfield win-loss record of the Bills should factor minimally in the overall impact of the region.
