billykaykay Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The New Home of Your Miami Dolphins Dear Member, As a Member of the Miami Dolphins, we want you to be the first to know the new stadium details and view images that we are sharing with the public later today. Thanks to Steve Ross’ commitment, the more than $400 million privately funded renovation has begun and will transform Sun Life Stadium into a world-class global entertainment destination. The stadium will continue to serve as home to the Miami Dolphins, University of Miami football and the Orange Bowl. It also will play host to premier events such as Super Bowls, College Football Championships, international soccer matches, festivals and concerts. There are multiple improvements on the horizon that will make your experience better than it’s ever been. Every seat will be replaced with new seats, the sideline seats on the Kia 100 Level will be moved closer to the field, and four new HD video boards will be installed in each corner of the stadium. In addition, we are installing a state-of-the-art, open-air canopy that will shade more than 92 percent of the seats within the new stadium. We’ve also added multiple new seating products and experiences and we’re working hard on ways to improve your ability to get in and out of the stadium much quicker with less traffic.Unlike other new stadium environments, we will not be charging Personal Seat License fees. However, as a result of the seating improvements and resulting changes to the seating bowl and product mix, all Members will be selecting new seats this offseason. We tried to create a process that is as fair as possible. With that in mind, below are a few key details: The order of your seat selection will be based on tenure (consecutive years of Membership in your current account). The longer you have been a Member of the Miami Dolphins, the earlier your seat selection date will be. In resetting the seating bowl, there is a tremendous once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit with your friends. If this is important to you, we can average your tenure and have you select seats at the same time to enable you to sit together. CLICK HERE to download a booklet of information showcasing all of the new stadium seating options. A printed, more detailed version of this booklet will be sent to you the first week of February that will include pricing, membership options and most importantly your seat selection date. I’m excited for all of you to see the plans and more excited to complete the project and get everyone here to experience the new stadium. Thank you for your commitment and support of your Miami Dolphins. Go Fins! Tom Garfinkel President & CEO, Miami Dolphins
Rubes Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 If nothing else, that's one hell of a nice pamphlet.
sodbuster Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I'm sure the tens of fans that attend Dolphins games will be thrilled.
plenzmd1 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I'm sure the tens of fans that attend Dolphins games will be thrilled. I think sitting in shade will help a ton actuay. That place is brutal on a sunny day well into November.

Wayne Cubed Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) Pretty impressive. Wonder how they feel about having to reselect their seats. Edited January 17, 2015 by Wayne Cubed
boyst Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Architecturally beautiful but also delightfully tacky which fit Miami well. The fans will also add a new level of disgust to such an amazing complex. Nonetheless, I like that they're doing two things: Leaving the playing field open and not building a new stadium.
Mister Defense Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Super ugly and would feel like sitting in a dome. Hope the Bills don't go in this direction, but it would be great to see the Fins play in this monstrosity!. People who love football want to sit outside, in the sun, the snow, and we'll take the rain as part of the trade off. Yuk. Hope the Pegulas speak up soon and put the kabash on any domed or partly domed stadium. I would much the Ralph than some crap like this.

Have you sat in that stadium during an afternoon game in September? I have, and it is brutal. I have no idea how 300 pound linemen play in that heat. I always thought that the NFL and Dolphins risked a lawsuit if some player dies during a game - especially since they started having 1:00 September kick offs again. Just my two cents.
HOUSE Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 That would be one ugly stadium... Looks like a big cat litter box with a hole to remove the poop.
Peter Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) FWIW - I actually think that it is architecturally and structurally interesting. By the way, in case you did not know, the biggest impact on the Bills will be that the stands will be brought closer to the field - in other words, it will be louder. Edited January 17, 2015 by Peter
eball Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 You missed the P.S. in the letter: "And I'm sorry, but yes, Joe Philbin is still the coach."
DC Greg Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Looks pretty sweet actually. Glad the Bills don't play in something like that, but I would love to catch a game there!
Fixxxer Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 whatever, instead of empty orange it will be empty aqua/green.
Saxum Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Looks like good opportunity to fill it with water and see if some Phish truly can breath in water.

Agree - and obviously needed in South Florida! The 72 Club looks sick, free booze, good food, car service to and from the game! And big cushy seats with TVs right in front of you. Pinkies out, bro. Still, I'd take that set-up at The Ralph!!
vincec Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Very nice. I could've done without the aqua color scheme for the seats however.
May Day 10 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 It looks like someone crudely photoshopted a roof onto joe robbie stadium
