Fadingpain Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Some where Doug Marrone is sucking on a .38 and a bottle of bourbon. This. Mark my words! The guy has been black-listed. You won't see him as HC again in this league.
Last Guy on the Bench Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) I asked this before and don't know the answer to it. Are coordinators on guaranteed contracts, too? HC are. I would find it hard to believe position coaches are. Not sure whether Schwartz would be. I'm not sure about coordinators' contracts, but I thought I read that Schwartz still had big money coming from Detroit this year. Edited January 16, 2015 by Last Guy on the Bench
Kelly the Dog Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I'm not sure about coordinators' contracts, but I thought I read that Schwartz still had big money coming from Detroit this year. You're right. That could be it. I think he had a couple years left on his Lion contract when he was let go.
nonprophet Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Would this make it less likely, or more likely, that Jay Cutler is traded ? It's more likely; gotta make room for Tebow.
truth on hold Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) This. Mark my words! The guy has been black-listed. You won't see him as HC again in this league. I don't think he's been black balled. He just wasnt nearly as attractive a candidate as he thought. (And with the jets in particular sounds like casserly gave him bad info). That "I took the bills to 9 & 7" line wasn't resonating with owners and GMs. First off they missed the playoffs so who really cares? Second week 17 didn't really count since pats rested their starters. And lastly the side of the ball that accounted for improvement ... Defense ... he's not given credit for. The areas he is closely tied to ... Offense and oline, underperformed. These outsider perceptions of where he did and didn't add value may be wrong, but thats how it goes. buffaloboyinATL Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Kubiak is now official. Atlanta is the last team without a head coach and everyone assumes that is all but a done deal. No HC gig for Marrone. Edited January 20, 2015 by buffaloboyinATL
