YoloinOhio Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) @SportsCenter: THIS JUST IN: John Fox in negotiations to become next head coach of the Bears. Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) I thought kubiak said no to all interviews. Edit: just read the article; I guess he is making an exception, huh? Edited January 16, 2015 by JR in Pittsburgh
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Sources: Fox deal with Bears 'all but done' I thought kubiak said no to all interviews.Edit: just read the article; I guess he is making an exception, huh? he did/// but since when has that meant anything?
Doc Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I'm not surprised that he's interviewing for the Broncos. He was their Offensive Cordinator under Shanahan and he gets to coach Peyton Manning. I also wouldn't be surprised if he took it.
buffaloboyinATL Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 So all that is left is Denver and Atlanta?
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 So all that is left is Denver and Atlanta? yup unless someone else gets fired or quits http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/155486
atlbillsfan1975 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Atlanta is going to Quinn i gotta believe with Gase as the OC. Basically leaves Denver. I am glad these other franchises are smart enough not to buy the Marrone hype.
negativo Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 John Fox...I didn't think it was possible to retread that old, worn out tire again. Way to go, Bears.
Jobu Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Some where Doug Marrone is sucking on a .38 and a bottle of bourbon.
B-Man Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Would this make it less likely, or more likely, that Jay Cutler is traded ? or will it strictly be a money decision ? .
Kelly the Dog Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Doug Marrone's head is about to explode. He thought he was by far the best choice and a shoo in for all six of those jobs.
Doc Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Some where Doug Marrone is sucking on a .38 and a bottle of bourbon. He's got $4M reasons not to. Unfortunately, thanks to the Bills.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 He's got $4M reasons not to. Unfortunately, thanks to the Bills.I don't know how much money He needs to maintain his lifestyle but $4MM in a modest investment could generate over $100K a year in interest.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 He's got $4M reasons not to. Unfortunately, thanks to the Bills. It is not all about the money. If it was about the money, think about how much a Cord or position coach gets. Marrone will have to work 10 years to make what he would of working one more season. Sorry just like when he was coaching Marrone made a bonehead move. It is turning out that owners are more clued in then Marrone thought. Marrone wants to be a coach, he is not going to ever get another shot at it most likely due to his actions.

Oh, I agree he made a boneheaded move that will bite him in the ass in time. But for this year at least, he's set.
Max997 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Could Swartz end up in Chicago with Fox? Looks like a good fit as they already run a 4-3. I was sure he would end up with the Giants once he was released from the Bills but they decided to do back to the future with Spags. I really like Schwartz and feel like he got a raw deal out of this

He's getting paid this year regardless, and he's not going to be sitting for long.

I would find it hard to believe position coaches are. Not sure whether Schwartz would be.

He was their Offensive Cordinator under Shanahan and he gets to coach Peyton Manning. I also wouldn't be surprised if he took it. He also played his entire career in Denver and was Elway's backup. I assume they are close and that this is his dream job.
