YoloinOhio Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) @WGR550: Did you miss Doug Whaley on WGR? Listen here: http://t.co/NJf4S71XOB Seemed most interested in signing Hughes and Spiller. No mention of Searcy, etc. Maybe just an oversight. Also he said David Lee coming back as QB coach Edited January 15, 2015 by YoloinOhio
YoloinOhio Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) Also I don't know how much Thurman Thomas is connected to what they are doing but he was on next and has been texting CJ every week, telling him "we want you back" Edited January 15, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Wayne Cubed Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Good interview, I thought he was very candid and I like how he talked about the draft. It was some good insight.

BillsFan-4-Ever Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Cue the Spiller haters in one...two... not a hater... just disappointment. Every time I think he's going to break out he breaks something else
Maury Ballstein Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Whaley loves Spiller? My man! KR/PR 10 carries a game behind the feature back. 5 YPC average goes up with Roman.
Green Lightning Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 When I think of Spiller, I try to think of the Gailey version and not the Hackett version. It helps.
YoloinOhio Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 Another interview @ChrisTrapasso: #BillsMafia, read this Q&A @JohnKryk had with #Bills GM Doug Whaley yesterday. Loaded with insightful quotes ---> http://t.co/mNEo8gto1d
K D Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 the WGR guys said they were joking around and said "did you get Hughes signed yet?" and Whaley said "they are hopefully getting it done now." wow that would be huge

mattsox Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Cue the Spiller haters in one...two... The guys a weapon if used properly and healthy. Not so sure he is a "Ground and Pound" RB...
zow2 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I was kinda surprised WGR didn't ask Whaley about his Marrone quote. As in, he mentioned after Marrone left how the Bills can now upgrade their head coach. How bad was their relationship?
mattsox Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Good interview, I thought he was very candid and I like how he talked about the draft. It was some good insight. Agreed. Good to see Doug still part of the organization.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Also I don't know how much Thurman Thomas is connected to what they are doing but he was on next and has been texting CJ every week, telling him "we want you back" What does Thurman know about running the ball and running backs?
YoloinOhio Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 The guys a weapon if used properly and healthy. Not so sure he is a "Ground and Pound" RB...since Roman never had a RB like Spiller, it's hard to say how he would use him. He isn't a ground and pound RB but he could certainly be used in screens and the passing game. They won't be running up the middle on every down.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I was kinda surprised WGR didn't ask Whaley about his Marrone quote. As in, he mentioned after Marrone left how the Bills can now upgrade their head coach. How bad was their relationship? Well, what he said was, after it happened, his choices were to wallow in it and say oh no, now what... Or... do something else. So he said lets take it as a chance to upgrade and that's how they set out. It was a mindset thing not really a slam on Marrone. He downplayed that and said he had no problem with Marrone just some healthy disagreements. He's a politician like Rex is to some degree. He never outright bad mouths people.
Mr. WEO Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 My guess is Whaley is pissed at how he was misused for 2 years He was pissed? Too bad there was no one he could spoken to about that..... Next time, he should just go right to the GM.

I'd never expect Whaley to outright bad mouth anyone so the quote i saw was a bit out of context. Whaley seems very careful in what he says to the media.
