Just noticed that the last time the Bills made the playoffs in 1999 was the year before they moved training camp to St John Fisher.

The only times they have been real successful, training camp was held south of the city. In the AFL glory years of the mid-sixties, camp was in Blasdell.

For the Super Bowl years, camp was held in Fredonia.

Time to move it to a location south of Buffalo.

Actually, the Bills haven't made the playoffs since I moved from Elmira to Connecticut. :w00t:

I still have my house in Elmira and plan to move back when I retire... but I have five to seven more years before I can do that. (Unless I win the lottery!)

They haven't made the playoffs because of where they train? I always thought it was because it was a lack of a good Qb and coaches

I thought it was because we lost too many games. LOL!

Move it to Hawaii until new stadium is built; it will attract free agents and help Bills condition to playing heat and humidity.

When new stadium is built use it so stadium will not be left unused portion of time.

The Pegs can put in a hotel connected to stadium which they can use for players and rent the rooms other days.

KoolAid,

I think your on to something here....seriously! Fans could rent rooms and make a weekend out of a training camp visit. Hit the casino's at night in Niagara. Add some cool games, expanding the "fan experience". They could even possibly set it up so fans could rent rooms close to players (extra $$ of course) for added player interaction for fans increasing the cool factor for die hard fans.

Again, it's not going anywhere. Brandon won't let that happen, and Kim, who grew up in Rochester, certainly won't let that happen.

This is exactly why we should have hired Wade Phillips.

:D Why stop there? Since the "curse" really began after the Music City Forward Pass, why not remedy it by also bringing back a 50+ year-old Doug Flutie and giving Phillips a chance for a do-over on naming a starting QB????

We play the Titans this year, right? Bring them both back for that game. Just let Flutie play one play coached by Wade. Reverse the Curse.

If we had a sarcasm font, it would've been clearer that I was joking. Geesh!!

SJF is probably the optimal location (and I say this as a Fredonia alum) but they need to nix the bus.

I'm a goddam adult and want to come and go on my on schedule and not be crammed into some sweltering yellow box with a bunch of other people.

There's the business end of things, where SJF has great facilities and the workouts and tryouts are very convenient.

Then there's the team-building end of things, where Fredonia with more bars per resident than any city in the country (or used to anyway) provided MUCH better opportunities for the players, and coaches, to bond with each other after practice.

I never bought into the regionalization concept. Seriously, will more people from Rochester buy tickets because the Bills have training camp near them? I just don't buy it.

Yeah, same with the Toronto series. How many more Toronto area residents bought Bills tickets (or even became fans) because of that series? Based on how the Bills played in those games, they probably turned off more people.

Did you forget this was TBD for a minute?

Yep.

They closed the bars in Pittsford??

I wonder if it has really worked. I grew up in Rochester; there was no need to regionalize us, as everyone was a Bills fan. Not sure holding camp there really adds anything.

Fairport high grad here too, bro!!

The season ticket base has risen something like 10K people since they went there. I don't know the exact stats and I may be off a couple of thousand but between that & the corporate dollars I would chalk it up as a success. Edited by Kirby Jackson

I was really impressed by the Bills TC location. St. John Fisher is a great site, and it gets the ROC area a healthy dose of the Bills.

It's really perhaps the best TC location in the NFL. I hear the players LOVE it.
