Kirby Jackson Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That's the Reggie Bush contract that I want to offer to CJ.
dayman Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) That is an insult if true. And it is, literally, the current Reggie Bush contract (no knowing the structure obviously, but on average). Edited January 14, 2015 by MoreOffense
EmotionallyUnstable Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 If there is any truth to this, he should be insulted. I'm not one to pay RBs big money, but thts ridiculously low for his recent success.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That is market value. No one is paying for RBs anymore.
YoloinOhio Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 I think because he is being run into the ground there, he would get more.
dhg Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I know teams aren't offering huge money to RB's, but that is very surprising. I know its a lowball starting point, but still. Spiller's price could goway down seeing how this might play out.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That's still less than I thought. We should sign him for a little more than that, or else Spiller is gonna be cheap.

NoSaint Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 The top group of guys still makes way more than that. I thought he'd get in that group, even though it a VERY small group of guys. Young, VERY productive, well decorated with awards and likely 3 good years ahead....I was figuring more like 4 years 30m but there's still a lot of time (marshawn money)
FireChan Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That's still less than I thought. We should sign him for a little more than that, or else Spiller is gonna be cheap. That's a contract that I could accept for Spiller. If that's the market for Demarco, wow. Spiller is gonna get 500k.
YoloinOhio Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 I think they might let him walk. Considering they want to also sign Dez ($$$) and I assume some defensive guys in FA because they overachieved with that side of the ball IMO. They might think their OL is good enough that they can plug in a rookie or backup. Just a thought.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 This is also why RBs need to hold out as soon as they can. Chris johnson's holdout in Tennessee is how you do it.
Niagara Dude Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That is very low and means we can give CJ about 1.5 or so and Fred at over 3 million is overpaid and should be cut to save cap money.

I don't know what the answer is, but the system is broken for running backs it often feels like. It's not perfect for anyone (nor do I expect it to be), but it effects rbs more than any position by a lot Edited January 14, 2015 by NoSaint

Don't know if he can handle 25 carries a game though.
Charles Romes Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 You could treacly make hay buying a stable of high end backs. Lot of value in that position. Gore is a rich mans fred jackson by the way and everyone will scared off by his age.
Beerball Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Salary cap is projected to be around $140M? http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/dallas-cowboys/
