You never mentioned how she feels about you. Are you just team mates? Are you friends? Are you sending dirty pics to one another and waiting for the divorce to go through and then going to another level? The one thing I've learned over 37 plus years of being single is as you can't convince someone to love you back. I'm only saying that as it sounds like you're already stuck on her and she's a crush which from my experiences never goes anywhere. So to quote a song "Let Her Go" and even you're still pining for her if she become single then go for it. Yet give her some space to let the divorce go through. As I think it be a mistake being there for her when you want to be more than just her rock. As it could make things messy if a relationship develops or if it develops too soon she might think she rushed things with you or you might end up in the friend zone etc.

you say she is in San Diego, where are you?

don't plan on this being anything more than a relief valve for her, she is still married, I would not count on you being her next love, simply a distraction

The situation does seem a bit complicated to be given simple statements like "if she'd go behind his back she'd go behind yours." But at the end of the day, even if the situation is complicated, once a cheater always a cheater is the credited response. Women on the market are ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS looking to trade up. And if she doesn't consider herself off the market when she's married (even if it's a ****ty marriage) she never will. HTH

P.S. Azalin makes a good point. Why is it the guy who wants the divorce? Women initiate 70%+ of divorces. When the man initiates something is up.

Trust me, I'm asking questions as best I can.

You will never be able to trust her in the long-term, because she is cheating on her husband; why would she not cheat on a boyfriend?

Her friends will kill anything before it starts. Once they know it started while she was still married, they'll ask her what kind of guy messes around with a married woman?

The potential is very high that, once the hubby finds out, he will make life miserable for both of you.

For those three reasons, alone, I'd say to let it go.

Well honestly plastic cups has a point, you sound like she meets your boner criteria more than anything else and she may be all kinds of effed up. Just be SAFE in every sort of way and do her a few times. You or she may be over it at that point. Or wait it out and waste a year with a loser coach while your football team wallows in mediocrity and boo at the ****ty QB.....oh wait.

it is okay to call you an idiot? Because really this is a desperate like trade up for a WR at #4 kind of advice thread. Don't you know any hotties that are just good for !@#$ buddy relationships? I always had 1 or more of those around when I was single, hell even the first time I was married. Makes this kind of Ohhh, she makes my panties get in a giant bunch, I really want her nonsense just go away. I used to get worked up that I could get 2 of my FBs in the same place and time (if you know what I am saying) now that was a fun challenge, not at all like. She plays with another man, BS. Have fun with life you sound young. The good ones pop up sooner or later and then you can worry about her playing on you. This one sounds like bad Karma.

not for nothing

If you never met her how can you be sure what she looks like?

I've seen internet romances work and others fail with ugly consequences...

unless you are sure she wants a divorce ....... go with caution otherwise its your time invested with a friend

I don't think it's that cut and dry to say that if a man initiates it something is up....speaking from my own point of view, i think as men we are happy with the status quo and can learn to deal with an unhappy marriage, whereas women are more pro-active in improving their situation. in my case, i know i told my ex afterwards that she had the balls to do what i didn't in dissolving our marriage, there was no cheating or anything, just way too many years of being unhappy.
