B-Man Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Nice headline, Reuters. Blame victim for being controversial. Extra points for "shootout," which implies two sides. One dead after shootout at Danish meeting with controversial artist Vilks Reuters) - One civilian was killed and three police were wounded on Saturday in shooting at a public meeting in the Danish capital Copenhagen attended by the controversial Swedish artist Lars Vilks, police and the Danish Ritzau news agency reported. Danish police confirmed one civilian had been killed in a shooting and said the suspects had fled in a car. Ritzau said both Vilks and the French ambassador, who was also attending, were both unharmed, but that three police had been wounded. The gathering was billed as a debate on art and blasphemy. Just over a month ago, 17 people were killed in France in three days of violence that began when two Islamist gunmen burst into the Paris offices of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, opening fire in revenge for its publication of satirical images of the Prophet Mohammad. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/02/14/us-denmark-shooting-idUSKBN0LI0N720150214 it’s actually extremely simple. /dev/null Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 UPDATE: From the comments: “Before the Danes get on their high horse let’s recall the many Viking atrocities.” . Let's not overlook The History® Channel's role in all this. After all if a Youtube video can spark rioting in Libya that lead to the assassination of a US Diplomat, The History® Channel's Scandinavian propaganda series Vikings surely bears some of the blame for yesterday's incident of workplace violence.

4merper4mer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I know you don't feel comfortable responding in your own words, but can you explain what you want the President to do? How about he simply starts with calling it what it is?
Keukasmallies Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 But what about the fact that the earth's temperature has risen some god-awfully infinitesimal percentage of a degree? POTUS simply doesn't have the time to consider dead Christians given the enormity of global climate change. He'll debut the installation of a new smoke stack scrubber on a coal-fired power plant in Resume Speed, KY in the next few weeks. Sail On, Oh Ship of State.

4merper4mer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 You mean you won't be happy until he insults the religion of Islam and becomes a hater? There is no need to insult the religion, but there is a need to identify the motivations behind what these people are doing. These are two different things. You know when it'll be too late to identify the enemy? When your burning head is rolling down a flight of stairs that's when.
B-Man Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 How about he simply starts with calling it what it is? Pope Francis: The blood of Christians slaughtered in Libya “a testimony that cries out” to the world Call this a contrast of leadership. In a meeting today with a delegation from the Church of Scotland, who traveled to the Vatican on an ecumenical visit, Pope Francis decried the slaughter of 21 Coptic Christians from Egypt by Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Speaking in his native Spanish, the pontiff used the ecumenical audience of Presbyterians to declare that the Copts were martyred for their faith — the faith of all Christians. They died “only because they confessed Christ,” Pope Francis emphasized, and their “testimony cries out to be heard”: {snip} Now, the point that the 21 men were beheaded for their faith isn’t exactly a subtlety in the ISIS propaganda video. The video title calls it “A Message Signed with Blood to the Nation of the Cross.” After beheading the Coptic Christian hostages, the Islamist terror leader threatens to “conquer Rome”: Get the point? Most did, but not so much the White House. In the statement released yesterday after the video emerged, the Obama administration declared its outrage over the murder of … “Egyptian citizens”: The United States condemns the despicable and cowardly murder of twenty-one Egyptian citizens in Libya by ISIL-affiliated terrorists. We offer our condolences to the families of the victims and our support to the Egyptian government and people as they grieve for their fellow citizens. ISIL’s barbarity knows no bounds. It is unconstrained by faith, sect, or ethnicity. This wanton killing of innocents is just the most recent of the many vicious acts perpetrated by ISIL-affiliated terrorists against the people of the region, including the murders of dozens of Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai, which only further galvanizes the international community to unite against ISIL. “Egyptian citizens”? That odd phrasing shows just how hard the White House tried to avoid identifying them as Christians. Why not just “Egyptians”? It’s true that ISIS will kill pretty much anyone in the most horrible ways imaginable. It’s also true that this particular escalation had a distinct choice of faith and sect. The White House couldn’t offer even a single instance of recognition about the victims slaughtered, even though they bravely met their fate without retreating from their faith. This may or may not be worse than the strange dance that the White House has been doing ever since Paris to avoid noting that victims in the Kosher deli there were targeted for their Jewish faith (“randomly selected”), but it’s cut from the exact same cloth of denial. IDBillzFan Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 So, the Obama Administration which spent 7 years degrading "nation-building" now thinks that nation building is the key to victory............................................................. Not to mention, the irony should not be lost on us that his answer is to do the one thing he is completely incapable of doing here in the US: provide jobs. Maybe he can get a bunch of ISIS folks to drop out of the workforce to artificially lower their unemployment number, making them *think* they're getting jobs. Yeah. That's it. Let's go with that.
IDBillzFan Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Funny. The #2 hashtag on Twitter right now is #JobsforISIS. #JobsForISIS Dear Ms #MarieHarf I am looking for something part time, I'm good with a knife, I like to get a head, excellent people skills..
Keukasmallies Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 In retrospect, maybe Joe Biden is the perfect partner for POTUS. The jobs-for-terrorists concept is right out of the playbook of the current administration. Can't you just see yesterday's terrorists installing today's solar panels on a home near you?
keepthefaith Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Why can't liberals make the easy leap to set up a foreign bureau of engraving over in the Mid-East to print a bunch of money and get the economy rolling over there? It's worked so well here and the Obama Administration has learned that many there are simply suffering just like our middle class. In retrospect, maybe Joe Biden is the perfect partner for POTUS. The jobs-for-terrorists concept is right out of the playbook of the current administration. Can't you just see yesterday's terrorists installing today's solar panels on a home near you? Illegal immigrants won't be happy and might not support the Dems if we were to do that.
