DAVID STROM You hear this all the time from the critics of Israel’s bombing of Gaza as if it is proof that Israel is a cruel bloodthirsty country. My response: why not? It’s not like Hamas hasn’t been the recipient of billions of dollars in Western aid, no less the blood money they get from their allies in Iran and other outlaw regimes. There is one reason why Gaza citizens are in the line of fire, why they are being subject to bombings, why they will be in the streets during vicious street-to-street fighting shortly, and why their hospitals and schools are getting destroyed: Hamas wants it that way. Hamas builds bunkers and tunnels, stores ammunition in schools and hospitals, and plans its evil among civilians. It tears up its water infrastructure to build rockets. It demands citizens act as human shields and parades the bodies of Palestinians who got killed for the sole purpose of providing propaganda benefits. That has certainly been the case since the appalling massacres in Israel last Saturday. The bodies of all the young festivalgoers, pensioners and beheaded babies hadn’t even been found before people began making excuses for their murder. And even praised the mass slaughter. On Sunday, just 24 hours after the atrocities, Hamas terrorists were still killing Jews in Israel. And radical extremists were gathering in Times Square to celebrate their actions. I went over to Times Square to see that “pro-Palestine” rally. We were told the threat to Jews in this country was from random groups of 30-40 white supremacists that pop up whenever it’s politically convenient. And while I have my sus feelings about what those groups truly are, if they are legitimate neo-Nazis, **** them and their trash hateful ideology. However, those people are child’s play compared to the absolute outpouring of anti-Semitic rage we’ve seen on college campuses, from groups like DSA & BLM and across cities of this country. These people are (primarily) leftists and it has been eye-opening. The level of Jewish hatred in this country is at a level I was never truly aware of. This isn’t new to a lot of us who have followed these wars for years and years, but it is still good to see because this is what Israel is up against.
