Bills RB coach Ty Wheatley interviewing at UM

I know you guys might have been kidding, but would it be COMPLETELY stupid to transition Fred into a RB coach role? Getting a new coach in wouldn't make the timing ideal, if we had the same coach for like 5 or 6 years, so everything was continuity, that would be more possible, but who else would you trust more to show his position group the right way to do things, and trust to teach the small parts of playing RB successfully like contact balance and falling forward, and pass pro, as Fred?

Maybe someday.

Any chance Marrone made the recommendation? Trying to get talent out of Buffalo to be spiteful?

not sure that we have any indication that hes a special talent, or that we otherwise would want to keep him. id hope that marrone is endorsing his guys though.

Nice recruiting move by Harbaugh.

it came to mind as a curiosity. if on a hypothetical level a guy is a legit candidate, could hiring him to your staff while recruiting his son be a no-no? seems it would be against NCAA policy but if father and son are both great options and decide theyd like to be together, would the ncaa block that?

Best wishes to Coach Wheatley if he's able to land the job.

If Harbaugh actually turns that program around, and Wheatley helps develop a running game to keep their rivals in the BIG10 off balance, Wheatley may return to the NFL someday. Good luck to him.

He's as good as gone. You have to figure he's likely gone when the new coach is hired anyway. Why not jump at the chance to coach at your alma mater

Right, he can't wait around. He did come to the Bills with Marrone from Cuse and may have a job with him wherever he lands, but if he is considering a college job esp to UM he needs to make a move now because they are way behind in recruiting.

and the opportunity to grow into an OC job under harbaugh has to be appealing when compared to marrone --

I'm sure Tyrone Sr. will jump at this opportunity to rebuild the Michigan program with Jim Harbaugh. His son, Tyrone Jr. will most likely get an opportunity to play at Michigan as a strong side DE. Had been a beast at Canisius. The Rivals 100 list him as the 22nd best Strong Side DE in the country at 6' 6" and goes about 245lbs. He is rated a 4 star athlete according to Rivals.com - Check it out https://rivals.yahoo.com/Michigan/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-3394;_ylt=Aswn2ONI8xo_mGQMv68yu75pspB4 Go Blue!

Has he committed anywhere? Could be a chance to bolster that class to 7.

Jk. Edit: just looked at his list. Looks like a great prospect and I sure as heck would prefer he not go to M!!
