The Warden Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 As if the blue line isn't aggravation enough http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...turf-cams_x.htm
Zamboni Man Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 It'll happen eventually, I'm actually kinda curious about how it would look.
Simon Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 As if the blue line isn't aggravation enough I don't mind it as long is it isn't doing anything, cuz' you can pretty much visually tune it out. If it starts to sparkle, I'll be pissed..... I wonder what it would look like if Fox did a Boise St game? It'll happen eventually, I'm actually kinda curious about how it would look. Turn on your vidcam and toss it in the dryer with a couple jerseys.....
Rico Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I wanna know how long before RF chips get put in both noses of the football to eliminate running the chains out on the field & second-guessing goalline plays.
Jukester Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Questions regarding football cam: 1. The ball spirals so how do you keep the camera from spinning? 2. Camera weight and positioning can effect flight of ball - passes and kicks 3. Balls come in and out of play - do you put cameras on all the footballs in circulation for the game? 4. Will players be prohibited from giving away footballs to the crowd? From spiking them? Camera equipment damage/loss means money.

The concept of the chain for measuring yardage is seriously archaic. You would think in today's day and age these aspects of the game would have gone electronic.
