Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I am reminded of this snippet I posted from marrone's first TC. Rings true now, huh? http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/160551-some-inside-info-on-camp-marrone/ For what it's worth, I have an "inside source" (the best friend of one of the vets on the team), and he told me that there's a feeling amongst the vets that Marrone is somewhat over the top in terms of being hands on and controlling. The one example cited was that the Bills had a lesson during TC in how they were all supposed to stand during the national anthem (i.e., hold your helmet in this hand, put your feet like this, put your hand like this, etc.).
YoloinOhio Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 So he's a real hot commodity? Interviews with NJ and ATL. No SF, Chi, Raiders? Don't call us, we'll call you St. Doug.
kasper13 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Marrone is nothing more than a narcissistic bully. Gets his feelings hurt easily (BTW, turn WGR off- everyone else does), treats people like garbage, demeaning and belittling those beneath him. Sucks up to those who can help him (Brandon for one) and then trashes them behind their backs. Inflated ego, sense of self. Thinks he is better than everyone else when clearly he is not. Any doubt the Bills are not better off without him should be 100% erased. I hope the Jets sign him. They deserve whatever they get and I'll love watching the Bills kick their ass twice a year. Brandon needs to go too. Serious dysfunction with him at the top of the organization.
The Frankish Reich Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 You know, he deserves the Raiders, and the Raiders deserve him.
YoloinOhio Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Ok, Greeny @Espngreeny: Curtis Martin and Kevin Mawae strongly endorse their old coach Doug Marrone. To me, that's as good a recommendation as you can get. #Jets Edited January 4, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Kelly the Dog Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Ok, Greeny @Espngreeny: Curtis Martin and Kevin Mawae strongly endorse their old coach Doug Marrone. To me, that's as good a recommendation as you can get. #Jets A lot of things can happen to a guy and his ego and his impression of himself when he goes from OL coach (when they knew him) to OC for the Saints to HC of a college and get credit for turning around a program to Sainthood to HC in the NFL to winning record on the Bills (even if it was in spite of not because of). I'm sure St Doug was not so full of himself when they played for him over ten years ago.
YoloinOhio Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) When is someone going to finally blab on the Mike Williams story? Edited January 4, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Wayne Cubed Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) No ones posted this gem yet? @RyanTalbotBills: I can say with 100% certainty that Marrone didn't even text his players about leaving. He texted someone in the player personnel dept. #Bills @RyanTalbotBills: This isn't a source thing. I was told by someone in the Bills organization. Edited January 4, 2015 by Wayne Cubed
Jerry Jabber Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 When is someone going to finally blab on the Mikf Williams story? Good question. Now that St. Doug, The Quitter, is gone, will the Bills bring back Mike Williams?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) I do find one thing somewhat interesting pattern here. What does Tom Donahoe, Mike Mularkey, and Doug Marrone all have in common? They were all rather upset at how they were treated by the local media and fans constant ripping of them and help hasten their departure through different means. Both Marrone and Mularky's families were even upset about the treatment according to the rumors and affected their kids. One person, OK he's just thin skinned, two well maybe all coaches have similar personalities, but three people makes you start to wonder if the problem is the constant, the media? Now if you can show me evidence that this happens in every NFL city, then I'll take back my questioning. I'm not questioning the criticism, that happens all over but maybe when you compare the news about the Bills relative to other stories in the area, it becomes overwhelming and you just can't escape it and becomes too much for the people to handle. Obviously you hear much more about what's going on locally, but haven't heard these types of reports from other cities where coaches just couldn't handle the media criticism. Comments have been made if he can't handle Buffalo media, how would he ever handle NYC media. One difference though in the grand scheme of things, in a huge city like NY, football is very big to many people, but percentage wise, maybe not so big compared to a place like Buffalo where there are less alternatives and a greater percentage of people live and die for the Bill's, like the guy who called WGR in tears when the team was sold. Do people call into NYC sports radio in tears? My take on Marrone was didn't love the guy, but would rather have seen him stay another season for continuity and due tend to agree with many of the comments on Marrone in the article, his behavior did seem to agree with what the article stated. But with three similar stories involving Buffalo media and Bill's leaders, makes you wonder where the problem really is and did they have a valid complaint at least to some level? I'm sure most will disagree and blame it all on Marrone, and Mularky, and Donahoe. Maybe you're right, but all three, that just seems too much to blame the coaches. Wayne Cubed Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Not surprised! What a d*ck. Then there's this... @lucky_lefty5: @nflnetwork what text?? That's Meeks Twitter handle for those who don't know.
YoloinOhio Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 @RyanTalbotBills: That person then forwarded Marrone's message along to the team.Perhaps Marrone has a texting plan & didn't want to go over his limit. #Bills
PolishDave Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 The whole Marrone thing has tarnished my opinion of Brandon too. He was such a strong supporter of Marrone. Makes Brandon look foolish and hurts his integrity in my opinion. Hard to take anything Brandon says as 100% truthful anymore. Schmuck.

BuffaloBill Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 “He is the definition of average,” said a Buffalo source. - now THERE'S a quote for ya The more that time hoes by the happier I am that this guy left. He proved nothing in Buffalo. He was supposed to have a great mind for offense. His sucked. The o- line, even more a specialty to him personally, was a joke. What a waste of a season this was given just how good this defense was.
Coach Tuesday Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 "Source" = local media (Gleason, Sal M.), is my guess. Still, it all sounds accurate.

Makes Brandon look foolish and hurts his integrity in my opinion. Hard to take anything Brandon says as 100% truthful anymore. Schmuck. I have to agree, especially with how Brandon ranted two years ago that the Bills brand was tarnished, and the Bills FO would leave no stone unturned finding a HC that is aggressive and will dictate the game.
Deranged Rhino Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Not surprised! What a d*ck. Absolute dick move. For a guy who preached family and togetherness, not even informing the men you supposedly lead in person (team meeting or even a captain's meeting if players already scattered) is just unfathomable to me. But it also seems to sum up his character perfectly. @RyanTalbotBills: That person then forwarded Marrone's message along to the team.Perhaps Marrone has a texting plan & didn't want to go over his limit. #Bills Hey, $4 million goes fast if you don't watch those minutes!
thewildrabbit Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 That bastage writer for the Daily News Manish Mehta...couldn't have said it all any better myself. I was just hoping he would be hired by the Jets before they found out about the real Maroon.
