YoloinOhio Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 How a power-hungry & thin-skinned Doug Marrone alienated people in Buffalo for 2 years http://t.co/fXZj5odqtY
NoSaint Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Well, a few quotes that hit issues we've debated pretty squarely- beyond being power hungry, thin skinned and unliked by many in the building I thought this was interesting: Marrone spent too much time in practice working with the offensive line, his pride and joy, rather than taking a broader interest in the team, according to people who knew him in Buffalo.
YoloinOhio Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 "Its about power and control, a source said. That is what drives Doug Marrone. Thats why he is a very dangerous person to have inside the building.
The Frankish Reich Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Excellent article. Sounds like a number of Bills players and staff are sharing their true feelings about the man off the record now that he's out. Players are one thing, that's a special world. But I have no respect for people who treat the lower level employees poorly, which sounds like Marrone's specialty. And to think that a head coach is listening to idiot talk radio AND getting offended by fan criticism. Marrone has managed to work his way from "up and coming coach" in the general (non-Bills) NFL world just 5 days ago to "surly whiner with poor leadership skills" today. Well played, Doug.
Fixxxer Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 One thing is to want power, another thing is to earn it. Marrone thought he could bully Pegula into getting more of it.
Wayne Cubed Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Why the hell was he listening to local radio? I bet he thought after the Packers win, WGR would be singing his praises. Haha, whoops. EDIT: Oh, and welcome to New Jersey Doug. Edited January 4, 2015 by Wayne Cubed
NoSaint Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 "Its about power and control, a source said. That is what drives Doug Marrone. Thats why he is a very dangerous person to have inside the building. When they are not just the most talented guy in the building but among the best in the NFL - it works. When you are doug marrone you think you are a miracle worker at 8 wins and that's real bad.
b33rpressure Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Approve videos for the bills site? Lmao. F marrone. I'm glad Mike shopp trashing him hurt his feelings. GTFO.
DC Tom Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Marrone spent too much time in practice working with the offensive line, his pride and joy, rather than taking a broader interest in the team, according to people who knew him in Buffalo. Given how the line played, that's just embarrassing.
mannc Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 What a tool. Good riddance. And why did it take the Daily News to come up with this story? Where was the fearsome Buffalo media?
maddenboy Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Possibly Marrone is trying to emulate what he "thinks" Belichick is / has / does. But if so, he's doing it all wrong.
Mr. WEO Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Well, a few quotes that hit issues we've debated pretty squarely- beyond being power hungry, thin skinned and unliked by many in the building I thought this was interesting: Too much time on the O-line, yet they still could't function properly. He's not a good teacher, it seems.
chris heff Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I was all for hiring him, it was an un-Bills like move. Now I'm glad he is gone.
Heitz Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 “He is the definition of average,” said a Buffalo source. - now THERE'S a quote for ya
gordong Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 This actually explains a lot... From Goodwin, Williams, and the reported spat with Doug W, the screaming near the sideline in the preseason. GLAD his gone and I couldn't agree more that his is AVG, at Best. Hope he has a couple years off to think about how this all went down....you effing QUITTER.
The Frankish Reich Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Mr Personality would make a great TV analyst if he doesn't get another HC job!
Corp000085 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I can't wait for this tool to get another job and come play an away game in OP.
Mr. WEO Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 All of these reports are confirming what many here suspected a year ago...
billsfan1959 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Given how the line played, that's just embarrassing. To me, that is the most telling aspect of Marrone's abilities... So glad he is gone.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 All of these reports are confirming what many here suspected a year ago... Yep. I went from thinking some of this grudge stuff couldn't be true, to thinking maybe, to probably so, to definitely so, to looks confirmed.
