NastyNateSoldiers Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I was doing some research on outside the box candidates and I came across Bill Lazor OC of the Miami Dolphins. Bill Lazor is young ( 42yrs ) up incoming head coach candidate that I think the Bills should take a long hard look at. BL was hired by the Dolphins before last season and did a miraculous job with there offense. BL comes from the Chip Kelly coaching tree and loves to employ alot of spread formations that are designed to attack the whole field. He was Nick Foles QB coach in 2013 when he threw for 27tds & 2pks. We all seen the decline of Nick Foles this yr statistically as he dropped to 13-10 td to int ratio. Was this coincidence or not? Maybe not and I'll tell u why. When BL took over the Dolphins offense after there disastrous 2013 he had a major job on his hands. The Dolphins offense was 27th overall, 26th scoring in the NFL, they couldn't run the ball 26th overall and they also had a horrible oline that give up a league high 58 sks. Ryan Tannehill was on the hotseat and so was Joe Philbin. In comes Lazor to save the day without adding much personal they signed Brandon Albert and couple journey men guards like Satele & Colledge and drafted Landry Jones in the 2nd round. This is what Lazor was able to do in one season. #1- He took total offense from 27th to 14th #2- total Scoring 26th to 11th #3- total Rushing 26th to 12th #4- Passing 22nd to 16th #5 - Tannehill from 58% to 67% comp #6 - Lamar Miller 7th overall yds from scrimmage 1382yds #7- The Dolphins for the first time in there franchise history, 4000yd passer, 1000yd rusher in same yr. These #'s can not be ignored as he took basically the same offense without Reggie Bush and made them much better. From top to bottom. I can't understand why BL isnt on the hot candidates list with Pep Hamilton, Gase, McDaniels & Frank Reich. Someone is going to open there eyes to this young genius and catch a steal. I hope it's us. Go Bills!
