If true, that is just unreal.

@ByTimGraham:Well-placed source: Polian's decision on Bills shifted in past day. Major factor in change of heart was talking to Marrone, who ripped org.

@ByTimGraham: Everything was lined up for Polian to return to Bills just 24 hours ago. But he is a big fan of Marrone's and trusts his opinion.

Well, at the press conference Marrone himself said he texted "the owner" about Orton retiring and then touched base with Russ to tell Whaley that it happened.

The obvious question? Why not just talk to Whaley yourself, Saint Doug?

The probable answer: they were barely on speaking terms.

I'm fine with this. Polian was very good to us in the past. Tomorrow means nothing.

edit: I am not fine with Marrone bad mouthing the team. That is highly unprofessional and shows that he is not very well up to speed on the workings of the upper echelon of management. You don't burn bridges, you don't run the gambit of closing doors, especially in such a tight knit community. The NFL will remember this and karma will, too.

Marrone must win it all and quickly in NY or he is surely done and back in the NCAA in 4 years.

I put way more stock in what Polian told Vic, whom he's had a long-time relationship with.

TG speculates a lot, and IMO tries to couch his thoughts as "news." Don't have a lot of respect for him, frankly...

Vics report doesn't contradict TG's. In fact, it likely coincides with it.

Polian told Vic that the job changed. That they lost their QB and coach and it was all falling apart and it was too much for him to want to get into.

So much for changing the culture, the culture beat Marrone, plus you have to wonder if this is a statement of trust in EJ by Marrone...

Bottomline, Pegula needs to do an exit interview with Marrone and fire all the lifers from the organisation, instantly.

I don't see how those two different reports contradict each other at all. Polian is being a little more diplomatic with his reports to Vic. Graham, as reporter, is saying behind the scenes stuff that a guy like Polian or Marrone would ever allow themselves to be quoted as.

What a pos if in fact true, yet seems curious to me seeing how many people Polian still knows at OBD why would he just take Marrone's word?

That "who ripped the organization" line is pure TG innuendo/speculation at it's finest.

Polian wouldn't have let a second-year coach's opinion influence him if he thought the job description Pegs outlined was still the same.

LOL. Kinda sounds like youre speculating that TG is speculating.

Perhaps.

But I'm pretty familiar with how Polian operates and that doesn't sould like him. TG on the other hand...

I find this total BS. The fact Graham put this out there speaks to how ridiculous he's become. He's not connected in anyway and acts like a true amateur.

Pegula has a vision to turn this franchise around. If it means costing us a mediocre quitter in Marrone and a guy, by some accounts has had the game pass him by, so be it.

This also means that Polian's idiot son comes nowhere near this franchise too.

@sportsfeedia: Buffalo News reports ex Bills coach Marrone opted out of contract because he was "uncomfortable" working with new team owner Terry Pegula.

and Tim Graham said he overhead Marrone saying this too in the Bills parking lot on his way out. Must be true. Everyone knows Pegula is an A-hole and if you can't work with everyone's darling Doug Marrone clearly you're the problem.
