Matteboots Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I would think that Marrone requested it at the time of his contract negotiation due to Wilsons questionable health and the obvious job security concerns with new ownership. Had we not obliged to include it, it could have swayed him to choose the Browns over the Bills. Had that happened, not sure who we ended up with at the time. The only successful coach hire from that season that I recall is Chip Kelly, who had no interest in Buffalo. As much as people bash the contract, it was a necessary evil at the time and I don't regret it. Would Chud have fared better than Marrone?
