It's too bad Marrone didn't take the high road and inform his team in person on Monday. That tells me he was in negotiations back channeling other teams who may want him. That would make the most sense. The other possibility is he was asking for an extension on his contract as he was a lame duck, and they wouldn't commit to him. Now that Russ Brandon is being looked at for President of the Raiders, and Laconfora reports Bill Polian will take on Brandon's job as President, Marrone probably knew his job was unsecure.
