YoloinOhio Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 @SI_PeterKing: Woody’s going to have to do a sales job on Marrone to Jets fans. That’s pretty obvious.
TheFunPolice Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 The NY media RIPPED Rex Ryan for going to watch his SON play a football game. It was mean-spirited and personal. Good luck with that kitty cat NY media St. Doug! You deserve it!
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) Mike Francesa is salivating Now that you mention it, so am I. SinceFrancesa is known as the sports Pope, New York sports could have a Pope and a Saint. Edited January 1, 2015 by DriveFor1Outta5
TheFunPolice Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Marrone will get hammered in NY The more you show the media there that it bothers you the more they feed on it!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Of all the openings seems to me the Jets is the worst spot to land. Maybe Marrone is doing this to up the interest in Atlanta, or Oakland?? Can't believe he'd opt out for that mess in NY
Ted William's frozen head Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Can anyone guess the Jets first play next season ? Run up the middle. Two yard gain.
Koufax Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Let's see. Doug preferred EJ to Geno, and doesn't like dealing with the media. We will see how this works out...
YoloinOhio Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Maybe Percy Harvin will body slam him and punch him in the face for us when he gets there
Zona Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Mike Florio of PFT said that Marrone and Rex share the same agent and it's possible that the Jets could have contacted his agent after learning of his 3-day opt out clause to gauge his interest. Maybe Marrone thought he'd try and use that leverage for an extension. Hope he winds up in NY anyway. I have wondered since I first heard of Marrone's opt out clause if the Jets had Tampered with Marrone. He was a NY guy who was at Syracuse, and IMO wanted to be in NY since day one. Once the Jests fired Rex, Marrone may have wondered, and if the Jests reached out at all, that is against NFL rules. I would love it if we got compensation if the Jests indeed sign the Doogie....Maybe we get their first round pick as compensation? Get'r done Terry. Go after the Jests, just be sure to wait for the signing to show your proof....(i know, we wont get the 1, but we should get something, and jests should be forced to give up something)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I'm sure there was tampering involved, likely happens all the time and very difficult if not impossible to prove. Whenever there has been tampering, the penalty has been pretty severe, but just can't see how it would ever be proven.
starrymessenger Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I don't like the idea of him going to the Jets at all. Wow. Why not. Are you a Jets fan? Marrone will turn that team into the NFL's biggest sinkhole. The media sharks will have a field day at his post game pressers. By about game 6 of the 2015 season the firedougmarrone threads will begin. I'm seriously looking forward to it all. Mucho hilarity soon to come. I'm sure there was tampering involved, likely happens all the time and very difficult if not impossible to prove. Whenever there has been tampering, the penalty has been pretty severe, but just can't see how it would ever be proven. I agree. Casserly (and Wolf) are advising Woody. Casserole loves Marrone. An interview has now been set. I have little doubt there was communication of some kind. Unlikely someone would walk from a HC gig unless he was pretty sure of landing somewhere else.
Max997 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Like everyone else I thought Marrone was def going to the Jets but I'm starting to think with his thin skin he won't want to deal with taking over a horrible team and dealing with the Bills and all the questions twice a year. I have a feeling he ends up with Atlanta
YoloinOhio Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 @RapSheet: #Jets plan to hire a GM first if possible, then coach so everyone is on the same page. GM candidates have been asked for head coach names
fridge Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm very supportive of the bills paying Marrone $4 million to go coach the Jets. Brilliant move. Pegula is so rich that he bought a three team division.
YoloinOhio Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Try not to puke while reading this Why Doug Marrone Would be a Perfect Fit for the Jets http://nypost.com/2015/01/01/why-bronxs-doug-marrone-would-be-a-perfect-fit-for-the-jets/ Edited January 2, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Sisyphean Bills Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm very supportive of the bills paying Marrone $4 million to go coach the Jets. Brilliant move. Pegula is so rich that he bought a three team division. How is Marrone's contract on Pegula?
fridge Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 How is Marrone's contract on Pegula? How could you interpret that post as being serious?
dave mcbride Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 That's hilarious, and here's why. The Daily News has clearly staked out its claim for being the anti-Marrone paper with the Mehta and Lupica pieces, so the Post has to do the opposite. The piece appears to have been ghostwritten by Jimmy Sexton.
Sisyphean Bills Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 How could you interpret that post as being serious? I didn't think your post was serious. Nor exceedingly funny, since, you know, Pegula didn't have anything to do with Marrone's contract. (I guess I'm not at the laugh-it-off stage yet. Sorry.)
