YoloinOhio Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Bail on his team AND go to a division rival while the Bills are still paying him? Seriously ... Wtf.
Joaquin1119 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I hope Marrone sign with the Jets. I would love to see our team destroying his new team
purple haze Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Pure speculation at this point "Report: Mutual interest between Jets, Marrone" http://profootballta...n-jets-marrone/ The Jets are reported to be interested in Mike Maccagnan for their GM position, and Jason LaCanfora reports that its his if he wants it. Then Maccagnan have a long history together, and he signed Marrone to play O line for the London Monarchs back in 1991. Plus, 45] FollowJason La Canfora Verified account @ JasonLaCanfora Would be a certain irony in Marrone drafting another FSU QB as Jets head coach, I suppose. Marrone was not a Geno Smith guy at all in 2013 More on this GM. http://www.ganggreen...general-manager We can only hope this is true! Oh, please, please, please, please...
Kelly the Dog Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Woody says goodie... http://www.nydailyne...ticle-1.2062548 Please please please. Oh that would be so awesome. Hackett coaching Geno. Marrone having to deal with the NY Press? This would be so much fun. Now, granted, Marrone is not a terrible coach. The Jets would be a threat each time we played them. They would beat us sometimes. He's not a total idiot. But I think they would always be a 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 team and I would love if they hired him.
YoloinOhio Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I don't like the idea of him going to the Jets at all. Wow.
NoSaint Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I don't like the idea of him going to the Jets at all. Wow. When you let go of the optimism that going into 2015 status quo required, I think you'll see marrone was middle of the pack at best. The Kyle orton or fitz of coaches.
Captain_Quint Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Jags don't need a QB, they have Bortles. What an ugly name.....
YoloinOhio Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 @MMehtaNYDN: Was time for Jets to part ways with Rex Ryan. However, his players never quit on him. Now, #NYJ considering a coach who quit on his players
Section242 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 An offensive coach whose offense was pathetic is a hot commodity. Go figure.
Niagara Dude Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Great news to start the year, Marrone goes for it on 4 & 1 and Terry stops him for no gain. His disconnect with players started in training camp and go read player twitter accounts tonight, everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR and see ya Marrone!
Wesdawg Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) Woody says goodie... http://www.nydailyne...ticle-1.2062548 Mike Florio of PFT said that Marrone and Rex share the same agent and it's possible that the Jets could have contacted his agent after learning of his 3-day opt out clause to gauge his interest. Maybe Marrone thought he'd try and use that leverage for an extension. Hope he winds up in NY anyway. Edited January 1, 2015 by Wesdawg
Bubba Gump Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I hope he goes to the Jets just so the Bills can knock his dick in the dirt twice a year.
thewildrabbit Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 Good stuff here, and Marrone to Jets might be a real deal http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/48126/doug-marrone-has-ally-in-jets-organization "Former Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone, suddenly a coaching free agent, has an ally in theNew York Jets' organization -- newly hired consultant Charley Casserly. " "Someone who knows Casserly, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Casserly has been raving about Marrone since he was the Syracuse coach (2009-12). Even then, Casserly was describing Marrone as a future NFL head coach, a rising star in the business. "He was totally infatuated with him," the person said. "You have to know Charley: When he gets on something, he's a pit bull. I know he's got Woody [Johnson] all lathered up." Marrone grew up in the Bronx and was the Jets O line coach for five seasons. http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/doug-marrone-steps-down-as-buffalo-bills-head-coach-1.9764212 " Former center Kevin Mawae, one of Marrone's best players during his days as the Jets' offensive line coach, endorsed Marrone's candidacy. "I'd play for Marrone anytime!" Mawae wrote on his Twitter account Wednesday night. "5 years as my OL coach with @nyjets ranks w/ the best of them!"
RuntheDamnBall Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 He's got "Woody lathered up"? Gross. Only one thing would be more hilarious than Marrone failing in NY, and that's the possibility of him getting shut out of all the HC gigs.
All_Pro_Bills Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) His interaction with the NYC media could become a new source of entertainment.. Edited January 1, 2015 by All_Pro_Bills
RuntheDamnBall Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 His interaction with the NYC media could become a new source of entertainment.. Yep. Saint Doug? Holy sh-- they'd have a field day with that.
ko12010 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I don't like the idea of him going to the Jets at all. Wow. Just don't know why he'd go there, or why they'd want him. True, he did decent against them in his 2 years in Buffalo, but that had a lot to do with the fact that their offense and QB situations are much worse than ours.
