Best Player Available Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Does he get too keep his visors??
DC Greg Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Rex can get his foot in the door now. You sir, are the man!
Reed83HOF Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Albert Breer @AlbertBreer 1m1 minute ago The Bill Polian/Bills rumblings have persisted. And if he lands there, Tom Gamble and Frank Reich would make a ton of sense joining him.
nucci Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Will Schwartz stay if he isn't given the HC job? no
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 NFL net wanted an extension, Pegula says no, Marrone get 4 mill regardless, STRONG INTERST FROM THE JETS. BILLS LOOKING AT FRANK REICH   bring Rivers with you
Solomon Grundy Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Wow @mikerodak: Bills safety RT @ajwilliams23: Lost all respect!! Completely pissed off, but not gonna let it ruin my New Years #Deuces #CantWait Sounds like he didn't hold Marrone in high regards in the first place. That's what happens when you don't follow protocol!
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 45] Retweeted 1,439 times 45] Aaron Williams @ ajwilliams23 15m15 minutes ago Lost all respect!! Completely pissed off, but not gonna let it ruin my New Years # Deuces # CantWait Sounds like we know where A. Williams falls. He'd probably be happy with Schwartz as HC. The defense seemed to love him.
Kirby Jackson Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I've been screaming for Gus Malzahn for a year so I will stick there. Give Schwartz a big raise to stay (he won't be happy if he doesn't get the job).
BringBackFergy Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Hey Marrone - Don't confuse effort with results. 6-10 to 9-7 not such a big leap. Good luck....okay???
MattM Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Actually it does no such thing. It certainly gives at least some credence to the idea that he started Orton in a meaningless game to try to win it to pad his resume rather than see what the potential QB of the future could do. Not saying that's what happened, but it is certainly possible. Personally, I think the other reason he didn't start EJ is that he would have looked the fool if EJ miraculously lit it up against the Cheats*....
Golden Wheels Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Just irritated that he didn't give EJ any playing time Sunday just to polish his resume. Toolbag.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Pegulas cleaning house! No Schwatrz or Reich, please What!?
Prickly Pete Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 You play to win the game of course. Only losers play to lose. Starting Manuel actually accomplishes nothing in the last game of the year. I'd start Orton in that game all day long. I completely agree. It was setting EJM up to fail. "Run for the bus" road game, against the best team in the league, a week after getting shamefully outed from the playoffs. "Here ya go EJ....let's see what ya got!" A short week of practice, a bottom dwelling offense...EJM hadn't played in 12 weeks, and suddenly, EJ is supposed to take over, and lead the team....ridiculous.
hondo in seattle Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Oddly, it seems Marrone would have been working effectively for nothing in 2015. Apparently he gets his 2015 salary whether he stays or goes. So it makes more financial sense to go. I wonder how much of this is just a business decision.
Kelly the Dog Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I've been screaming for Gus Malzahn for a year so I will stick there. Give Schwartz a big raise to stay (he won't be happy if he doesn't get the job). That's my dream scenario. Git er done Doug.
boyst Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Chris Trapasso @ChrisTrapasso 58s59 seconds ago Another ex. of personnel > coaching. Whaley's philosophies won out over Marrone's. Whaley integral in building pretty talented #Bills roster
Billsguy Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Tim Graham @ByTimGraham 17s17 seconds ago League source: Marrone asked Pegulas for an extension and was told no. He then asked for extensions for his assistants and was told no. This is a smart move by the Pegulas and a smart move by Marrone. If you consider Marrone has no QB and no 1st round draft pick next year, the chances of improvement were small. In addition, with the job market opening up he stands a good chance of making more money elsewhere. I never thought he was up to the job. His decision making was flawed frequently and he seemed testy when anyone called him on his numerous tactical errors. Goodbye and good riddance. Hopefully Marrone takes his entire staff, except Schwartz, with him. Hopefully, Brandon and Whaley are sent packing too. This could be the start of a new era for the Bills if Pegula hires wisely. Fingers crossed Pegula sees what a failure Whaley has been. Trading up a few spots to pick a WR while sacrificing a 1st round pick is atrocious and is grounds for termination by itself! On to a brighter future!
