hondo in seattle
Just because Schwartz is under contract doesn't mean he stays. The new HC (assuming it's not Schwartz) may want his own guy. I hope the Bills hire an offensive minded HC who keeps Schwartz. Then again, if the Bills hire Cowher or Dungy, I'll be thrilled. thewildrabbit
If he signs with the Jests right away, there needs to be an investigation into likely tampering. If he signs with the Jets I'll be doing backflips for a week
starrymessenger
If it is true that Marrone gets paid in full for 2015 without any offset, the person who negotiated that deal should be fired. Exactly what I was thinking. If it's Brandon he needs to go asap.
Max997
Great, we get to start all over again...again...again... New coach does not always mean starting over, no idea why people always think it does If Schwartz stays all that will change is the offense which we all wanted anyway so what's the problem? Kelly the Dog
Marrone is probably going to poach either Henderson or Pepper Johnson to run his defense I will assume. I hope it's not Henderson. We don't have to let them go unless they get a promotion, which would be to DC. One of the good things Marrone did last year, a very good thing but a no brainer, was to not let Henderson interview with the Browns so we got to keep him. He's very, very good. hondo in seattle
Pegula's money can't get us a QB. But it could get us a coach. I wonder how much he'd be willing to pay someone like Cowher?
Reed83HOF
This honestly is great for this team. Terry is not messing around and I love it. I wonder if the Brandon smoke has something to it as well.
die hard bills fan
Good move. The team was good this year because of the D which was Schwartz's doing. Marrone/Hackett's offense sucked with players regressing and is in disarray. I wouldn't mind promoting schwartz to HC to keep an eye on the D while hiring another DC and an OC to fix the offense. EmotionallyUnstable
Couldn't be his epic record of head coaching success..... An in-house replacement with a killer defensive squad. If you bring the right OC in, you're cooking with gas. His history is a mixed review
DisplacedBillsFan
Best coach since Ralph ran Wade out of town. Who cares if Doug was a little smug. He changed the loser attitude of this organization and the players gave their all and bought what he was selling.
Stormin Norman
If Waley or Brandon leave, of their own accord or otherwise, it makes the Watkins move an even greater question mark. They make the decision to forego a first rounder next year and then aren't here to live with the decision. And the impetus for the move...support for EJ....is made even more dubious as EJ's future in Buffalo becomes less assured under new management. I like Watkins...so it's not about him personally. Are we talking about the move to get him as a major (yet typical) gaffe by Bills management ten years from now? Or as a turning point to secure a brighter future? HurlyBurly51
This team truly stinks. I don't blame Marrone. Freakin awful media in this town and sour sap fans. Ha! He'll LOVE New York! If you can't handle Sully, well.....
GG
This is the equivalent of a QB sliding one yard short on a third & one. Good job saint, don't let the door hurt your backside too much.

Dan
He just asked for extensions for his OC and OL and that is why he is gone. I agree... I wasn't completely in the camp that Marrone had to go. He did some good things here. But, he also did some bad things. If he wanted his offensive coaching staff to stay in place... with extensions.. well, good riddance. Because, the one thing I think we can all agree on is that no one on the offensive side of the ball should be given anything... players and coaches. Kelly the Dog
Which is more likely to have changed the culture of the Bills, Marrone and his attitude and his conservative style, or guys like Hughes and Graham and Dixon and Kiko and Spikes that Whaley brought in, along with Pettine/and Schwartz the defensive coaches?
