TPS Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/08/worst-nfl-teams-to-play-for-espn-poll-oakland-raiders August 26 2014. thanks, makes sense. However, I think we'd still see the same results if updated. Too many college players come from warm climes. I had the same experience that Whaley describes, came from the west coast, never thought I'd stay, but here I am 25 years later.
Tyrod's Tailor Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 thanks, makes sense. However, I think we'd still see the same results if updated. Too many college players come from warm climes. I had the same experience that Whaley describes, came from the west coast, never thought I'd stay, but here I am 25 years later. agreed. I'm no good with this search function, but I swear to god there was a full thread about this back when the poll came out.
vorpma Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 http://wallstcheatsh...html/?a=viewall During the 1990's, veteran players wanted Buffalo; winning team, great environment, players liked Camp Marv in August and the fact he trusted you to condition yourself, and the team payed well. Jim Jeffcoat signed as FA from Cowboys was paid three million a year to rush the passer on 3rd down. Ted Washington came to Buffalo from Denver and was all world NT forever Bryce Paup signed from GB and was an all - pro This poll can change but we need a winning organization!!
BuffaninATL Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 these rankings might have had some merit prior to the Pegulas purchase of the team
DC Tom Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 ... so this information is compiled from an ESPN article? I would wonder how because this just seems like click bait. 5 Green Bay 4 Jacksonville 3 Cleveland 2 Buffalo 1 Oakland The top 4 you could agree with but then they have GB @ 5? So, is that because it's cold in GB? Is that because it is in the middle of no where? 4 of those cities are generally considered middle of no where and miserable. Oakland, I cannot imagine gets rave reviews. This is just click bait. Goddammit, we still can't beat Oakland!
bisonbrigade Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Doesn't appear to very up to date when still talking about moving to Toronto?? This is an old article I think.
DrDawkinstein Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Old article, before this season where our Defense showed they were best in the league and our ownership situation was solidified. Not saying we'd be a whole lot higher up now, but results could be different.
Beef Jerky Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 A sample size of guys that were let go from those teams.
boyst Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Old article, before this season where our Defense showed they were best in the league and our ownership situation was solidified. Not saying we'd be a whole lot higher up now, but results could be different. if someone like Hughes resigns, and Spikes stays and maybe we add someone else who is well liked and respect it will speak volumes for this team. Instead of doing 1 year rentals with guys like, TO, Vince Young, Orton and others and instead of having guys like Poz, Byrd, Whitner and even Peters go elsewhere it could be a trend changing the other way.
vorpma Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Goddammit, we still can't beat Oakland! This is an awesome post, you had me rolling. Thanks.
todd Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 http://wallstcheatsh...html/?a=viewall Um, how old is this article? The Bills aren't moving to Toronto, and there is no danger of doing so. I'd even say the Bills are seen as a team on the rise, given the strength of the defense and the relatively few pieces needed on offense, however critical.
TC in St. Louis Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Buffalo is a great place to play. We continue to support our team no matter how bad they suck.
bbb Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 .5 Green Bay 4 Jacksonville 3 Cleveland 2 Buffalo 1 Oakland I remember in the 80s when the players wanted free agency, but didn't have it yet. The prevailing thought was - it's going to be very unfair because every player is going to want to go to the Raiders!
John from Riverside Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I feel that this was true in the past.....but you have to look a little deeper then that No body wants to pledge long term job security with a team that does not know where it is going to hang its hat in a year..... But this had changed....this is now Pegulaville......and a new day
Fredo G. Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Would have been surprised if we weren't on that list. Athletes want to win. Shocked that GB is on there. Most athletes are from the south, puss
stevestojan Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Most athletes are from the south, puss Did you call me a puss? I'm fine if you did. Just curious that you would. Anyway, another round of Chardonnay for me and the boys!

Fredo G. Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Look at the retired Sabres who stay. Bowman made his home here when he coached Detroit most of these guys are warm weather guys who don't want to play in the cold. Thatbeing saidI LOVEDthe Bills who posted during the storm..
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 http://wallstcheatsh...html/?a=viewall fear of moving to Toronto? how old is that article? and what ever we don't need pansies who are afraid of the cold. Listen to the players that are here they love it because we love them but don't turn into fawning teenagers when we see them out in town.
patfitz Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Personally I always like the Guess Who, my favorite Canadian band of all time, sorry Tragically Hip fans.
