Talley56 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Damn it Chandler!!! Fall on the flippin' Ball!!!! You practice the fumble drill your entire life, then when you need to fall on the ball, you do what???? What do you do? Try to catch a fumbly, wumbly, flipping, dipping spspheroid! Flipping use your big 6'7" doofus frame and bury the ball under your body!!! Damn it Chandler!!! Fall on the Ball!!! I hardly blame Chandler for this play. Diving on that ball or any fumble for that matter would have been very difficult. This was squarely on Brown who had an easy TD run and let it get knocked out of his hands.
johnwalter Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I'd say one. You really only need one ball to be King. inspirational
Best Player Available Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Please explain in greater detail. re watch the game the greater detail is right there.
Alphadawg7 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 We were also a missed FG away from not even being close to the playoffs. We had no business winning that Detroit game, they just forgot how to kick a FG missing every attempt, any of which would have given them the win. So you can play this game both ways... That being said, we were a handful of plays away from double digit wins, just like we were a handful of plays away from a losing season again. That translates to us not being very good but also not bad. We are two pieces away from being a legit contender and those 2 pieces are blatantly obvious... QB - Orton sucked, best thing that happened to us this year is his retiring. Our best hope right now is that EJ sitting behind Orton helped him learn and develop more and he can come in and take command of the position next year. There isn't a lot available at QB to give us much hope for an upgrade unless a vet like Brees becomes available via trade for cap reasons and rebuilding (I seriously doubt he or anyone near his caliber will be available though, likely just all worthless rumors). OC - Got to be one of the worst in the league and I hope he is fired. The prutrid QB production might actually get him one more year as the excuse of not having a good QB might save his neck...but I hope not because his play calling was mostly terrible, predictable, and made no sense in how he used certain personnel. If we can get those 2 positions settled, I think we certainly make the playoffs next year and compete for the division title.

Interestingly, Trestman was hired as a consultant by Sean Payton/the Saints in 2007, when Marrone was the OC there.
PortlandiaEast Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I think if Leodis doesn't fumble away the Monday night game against the patriots, the last few years would have been different. That single heartbreaking play for this fragile organization set the tone for that season and at least a few years after... From that game on, I stopped trusting Leodis as a returner because of I cant get that one play out of my mind... Every punt or kick that he fields, I hold my breath.
Billsguy Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Seriously though, If these two plays are not turnovers the Bills are the 6th seed and the Bengals are out of the playoffs. 10/12/14 Panthers vs Bengals: http://www.nfl.com/g...ap3000000409362 4th QTR: Carolina Panthers at 04:32 3-13-CAR 29(3:36) (Shotgun) 1-C.Newton pass deep middle intended for 13-K.Benjamin INTERCEPTED by 20-R.Nelson at CIN 45. 20-R.Nelson ran ob at CAR 24 for 31 yards (67-R.Kalil). That interception set up a FG that would give the Bengals a 3 point lead. http://www.nfl.com/g...ap3000000425018 11/9/14 Chiefs vs Bills: 3rd QTR: 2-10-KC 17(9:54) (Shotgun) 35-B.Brown right tackle to KC 5 for 12 yards (38-R.Parker). FUMBLES (38-R.Parker), ball out of bounds in End Zone, Touchback. Ball bounced out of back of end zone. Damn it Chandler!!! You can throw this one in for fun too: http://www.nfl.com/g...ap3000000425161 11/9/14 Chiefs vs Bills: 4th QTR: 4-2-KC 16(9:57) 2-D.Colquitt punts 53 yards to BUF 31, Center-43-T.Gafford. 21-L.McKelvin to BUF 30 for -1 yards (42-A.Sherman). FUMBLES (42-A.Sherman), RECOVERED by KC-42-A.Sherman at BUF 26. KC-88-J.Hemingway was injured during the play. His return is Probable. McKelvin, every time you touch the ball, I assume you're going to fumble. I don't blame you for this fumble. I blame the freaking genius that lets you field punts. And the Bills were one play away from the Super Bowl title !!! What's the point?
Mr. WEO Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Detroit missed something like a hundred FGs and the Bills needed a circus catch from Sammy and a 58-yard FG to win. Chicago. Bears don't fumble throw a pick in 4th quarter and they win. Green Bay. Nelson doesn't drop 90 yard TD and that game is down to the wire. Minnesota. Chandler doesn't catch 4th down pass, Hogan doesn't make circus catch, Orton doesn't hit Sammy on last play. This is too easy. All true.
Luxy312 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I think with average play calling on offense we could have been 13-3. The only game we couldn't have won was the first New England game. So, with our coaching are we a playoff team? NO! With an average coach we are a strong playoff team. Everyone singing Marrone's graces because we had our best year in 10 years is narrow minded. Our roster is much better than 9-7. Its like people in business who say "this year profits were up 400%". Well from $100...400% is $40 000. Well if you should be making $200 000 that sucks...but someone is spinning it as up 400%. Or being up 400% from zero is still zero!! Well, if the roster were better than 9-7, then we would have been better than 9-7. The Bills wins came mostly against average teams and their losses came mostly against playoff teams. No team that they lost to was under 0.500 and all but two of the teams they beat were above 0.500. Coincidence? I don't think so. The Bills offense is the problem.

Coincidence? I don't think so. The Bills offense is the problem. I agree the offense is the problem. Marrone should be responsible for that. And I do not think he deserves credit for the defense. I also think an average coach could have done more with the roster on the offensive side.
Alphadawg7 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 What do you think of Trestman? Interestingly, Trestman was hired as a consultant by Sean Payton/the Saints in 2007, when Marrone was the OC there. Prior to this season I would have been intrigued, but man, that Chicago team was terrible this year. Too much talent to be that bad. They really regressed and the offense was bad. With all that said, Cutler was a turnover machine and the offense kept screwing itself. How much of that is Trestman and how much of that is the players...thats the question. Despite all that though, I would take Trestman over Hackett in a heart beat. Hackett needs to go, and even though Trestman is coming off a disaster as a HC, he has a pretty good offensive resume much like Schwartz had a disaster stint as HC but was always a stud DC. Not sure he's my first choice, but I wouldnt hate the move...only thing I will hate is keeping Hackett one more year.

The next coach that takes the Bills to the post season will eat at Duffs for free for life.
