My prediction of Russ Brandon's opening comments (assuming he is there and talking):

"Going forward we will hold a series of robust discussions empowering us to proactively effect productive change and reach out to the fans of the Buffalo Bills, streamline our operations, and develop a synergistic relationship creating a system of winning sustainability. We're all very excited about the future."

classic!

Joe B. from WGR: Can EJ lead this team to the playoffs and if so, why?

Marrone: accuracy is better, decision making is better based on performance in practice against our own D.

Marrone: But you have to be able to do that in a real game against opposition.

Whaley: This was a beneficial step in EJ's career; he can decompress and see how another guy does it.

Kyle came up to Marrone this morning and informed him of retirement; Marrone asked if Orton was sure about this.

Marrone told him he should take some time and think about it.

Orton said "I am ready to retire" and you gotta respect his decision.

Whaley: Hughes is a productive player; we will do everything we can to keep him.

Same for CJ; he can bring something to offense and be nice weapon.

Was EJ pick a failure?

Whaley: No, his career is not over.

Was your concern about protecting QB limiting your offensive scheme?

Marrone: Don't want to run team with 3 separate entities; team knew what had to be done in 3 phases.

Kyle's numbers, receiver numbers...we need to do better job situationally from red zone and 3rd down standpoint. Need to get better.

was there a decision to be more conservative on offense?

Marrone: sometimes you speed up, sometimes you want to slow down.

Look at first drive yesterday; we were calling same plays but were efficient and went down field and could score.

2nd half didn't make many adjustments; doing same things; didn't get same results.

A team needs to be "EFFICIENT"

Whaley will go to Mike Lyons (?) and ask if he can crunch some numbers regarding analytics; will get ramped up more this off season concerning FA and draft board.

Analytics is new to Whaley. We are scratching the surface.
