White Linen Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Here's a question: does Whaley have the authority to fire Marrone on his own? Probably but it should be an organizational decision. Obviously when the GM - President and owner disagree on these things it can deteriorate their relationship and we see it all the time. There's other times when they disagree and feelings don't get hurt and they can still move forward and work together. So sometimes it plays out that they disagree and the President and Owner will say we disagree but hey ultimately it's your decision so go ahead - and other times it creates a riff and the GM is told no you're not doing that.
BringBackFergy Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Cowher for HC, Jimmy Johnson for OC and Dan Reeves for DC....we could dominate!!!!
eball Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Don't think he's ever broke a story. Ever. Oh, he's broken quite a few, if you get my gist.
jr1 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 He was telling Terry about Time Warner Cable's new promotions. Nothing more
BuffaloBaumer Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 What this team needs is an innovative mind for the offensive side of things. Go find the next Chip Kelly and offer him 10 million a year.....done.

That is kind of what I am sensing. What this team needs is an innovative mind for the offensive side of things. Go find the next Chip Kelly and offer him 10 million a year.....done. If they don't retain Marrone, I want Malzahn.
PromoTheRobot Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Did George Seifert pick Cowher up at the airport? In Ralph's Taurus?
White Linen Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 What this team needs is an innovative mind for the offensive side of things. Go find the next Chip Kelly and offer him 10 million a year.....done. I have to disagree. I don't think it's find a Chip Kelly and done. Kyle Orton has such limitations it has little to do with innovation. It's a tall order to find a QB.
Coach Tuesday Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 If this happened, it likely was to seek advice about what to do with the program, not about a potential job opening for Cowher.
bigK14094 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Just remember...Cowher would want a lot of control, which means Whaley goes, too. Just a minute, those two must be acquainted....at the very least, as they both have Steeler pedigrees! I wouldn't be sure that Cowher would result in Whaley being dumped. Especially if Cowher was upstairs from the GM position........ Here's a question: does Whaley have the authority to fire Marrone on his own? Theoritically, yes......but......he would not do that without Pegula's and Brandon in the picture and agreeing.....Whaley is a team player, and would not get out of line by doing that on his own. Now, they might let him make the final call, but not without serious consultations with the folks upstairs.
Nick the Greek Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Any word on Jon Gruden? I love when his name comes up
boyst Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 And Cowher sold him a Dish package..I'd love to believe this...Cowher, Mangini, Ryan my Dream Team of coaches Cowher does time warner. Not dish
4merper4mer Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Game has passed him by. Maybe, but the sure thing is that the opposing DL has passed our OL by. Don't worry though, we have an OL guru to fix it obviously.
Malazan Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 He has not coached in ten years...I don't get the gushing for this guy to come back and coach
BuffaloBaumer Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I have to disagree. I don't think it's find a Chip Kelly and done. Kyle Orton has such limitations it has little to do with innovation. It's a tall order to find a QB. How does Chip Kelly keep winning with Sanchez? Is Sanchez that much better than Orton?
BuffaloFan68 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I would love it if we brought Chan back as OC.
Thunderstealer Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 YOLO! Its not fun to tease us. The Pegula's might value a star coach. It's almost impossible to imagine this as a Bills fan-- like beer being on sale to a Canadian--it's never happened before.
