DC Tom Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Depends on the cost, but generally...no. There's better players to spend the money on.
Joaquin1119 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 If i was spiller, i wouldn't come back. They don't know how to use his talent. Once he join another team get ready to be upset when he play like a true star.
thebug Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Backs seem to be a dime a dozen these days, so depends on how much $.
Drifter Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I'd keep him for a modest price. He is a change of pace back. He will never be our go to guy. We definitely need to find Fred replacement.
Mr. WEO Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 If i was spiller, i wouldn't come back. They don't know how to use his talent. Once he join another team get ready to be upset when he play like a true star. This is so awesome.
RealityCheck Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Spiller is a coward when it comes to pass protection. After all these years, he just won't commit to it. He needs to go.
Don Beebe Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Great ability, but it shows nowhere near often enough. As has been said already, he simply refuses to hit a hole quickly for 4 yards and looks for the big one every carry. But what REALLY put me over the edge on Spiller was the sack he gave up today. Not only did he miss the initial block, but then he turned his back on his man while the guy stepped right around him to get the strip sack. Inexcusable. There is NO part of his heart that's into pass pro. Yes That just about sums it up.
Webster Guy Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 the guy has a 5 yard per carry career average in the nfl thats ahead of a lot of great runners including demarco murray. i hope they keep him, maybe an incentive oriented contract if he'll go that way.
boyst Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 At the right price. He is dumb. He just doesn't seem coachable. He had one good play tody. Following lead blocker Gray. I'd take Summers on this team in 2015 before I would a Spiller costing more then $3.5mm/yr
Peace Frog Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 He is Reggie Bush 2.0, nothing more. Let him go wow and/or frustrate some other club. I'd rather spend his money on Jerry Hughes.
Dragonborn10 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 He will find a home in Arizona or Seattle. He may sign a one year deal somewhere and try to have a breakout season for a team with some hope of running a competent offense.
dpberr Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 No. I have seen enough. May be in the minority but I do not think he is a very good football player. Athlete yes. Player no.
FireChan Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 the guy has a 5 yard per carry career average in the nfl thats ahead of a lot of great runners including demarco murray. i hope they keep him, maybe an incentive oriented contract if he'll go that way. And yet I would bet 32 GM's would take Murray over Spiller.
The Dean Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Spiller is a coward when it comes to pass protection. After all these years, he just won't commit to it. He needs to go. That is a horrible comment, IMO. He isn't a good pass protector, that is true. It is something he never had to do in college and something that doesn't come naturally to him. He has gotten better at it over the years. I believe he has worked on it and tries. He will never be Fredex at pass protection, no question. A coward, though? Please.
hondo in seattle Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Only if we get a new OC who knows what to do with him.
TheFunPolice Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Reggie Bush is the perfect comparison Totally one dimensional player who is always hurt.
T master Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I thought Spiller had another dismal game. He whimped out on the block that led to Orton's sack fumble. He can't break a play open to save his life. With his lack of ability to aid in stopping opponent's pass rush, I think he is more of a liability than an asset. I will be disappointed if he is back next year. Your thoughts? Its awful funny when he has a offensive line that can open holes & a OC that knows how to use his strengths he can average 6 YPC , this could be another fire Hackett post instead of keeping CJ ...
Doug Flutie Band Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Spiller. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQUbNWNDmFU&t=1m40s
Peter Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I like CJ and would like him to be part of the team. I do believe that, with a better interior line (on the Bills or another team), he will return to his prior production. I also think that he is a good teammate and is well liked by Fred and others on the team. At the end of the day, it is going to depend on $$$$.
