Kelly the Dog Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 OK. targeting Sammy more should be a goal for next year. He's a great explosive player-- I'm glad we have him. My regard for him does not turn on 980 v. 1000. I do understand what you are saying. It's mostly for the fans and player and agent when negotiating. But it is a big deal for a lot of people, including Watkins himself and his teammates. Especially when he gets 1000 yards for the next several years and it should have been every year. Or when idiots on this board say stupid crap like, "He's a bust! He didn't even get 1000 yards."
Casey D Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Not what I said. This was like a preseason game. Glad they are 9-7 but how can you get excited about todays win? Not excited. But winning for the first time in NE in 15 years is mildly satisfying.
Fadingpain Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I live in the present, and in the present both equal the same results; no playoffs. I cringe to think of the future with another year of Marrone, Hackett, Orton, and EJ. Hear hear! Any motorsports fans out there? In car racing, there is an old saying. The guy who finishes second is just the first loser. The objective is to win. In team sports, the objective is to qualify for the post-season. Anything short of that is a failure. This is the same old, same old for 15 straight years. Let's hope for more next season.

I'm assuming he'll have an 1800 yard season one day, and this won't matter a whit... Hear hear! Any motorsports fans out there? In car racing, there is an old saying.
