CSBill Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I HAVE A BETTER TRADE OPTION FOR CLEVELAND: We'll take Johnny Football off your hands, and you give us back that first round pick, and we'll call it even.
Kirby Jackson Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 uhh....ok? Then why does it matter if you are using your 5th to acquire a WR? Just because you don't have a QB doesn't mean that you shouldn't use other resources to improve the talent on the roster. Maybe that isn't the argument that you are making but there has been a lot of "if you don't have a QB it doesn't matter" people on here. I agree that QB is the most important but if a particular pick isn't going to net you a QB anyways make the team better elsewhere. The team shouldn't just throw up their hands and say "don't get ____ player because Orton is the QB."
Mr. WEO Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 We should trade for him then keep him inactive for most of the games next year before finally releasing him before the end of the season. Exactly--Marrone knows how to handle these people!
YoloinOhio Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) Rotoworld has him under contract for 2016. Sportrac doesn't. They both are usually accurate but make some mistakes. Seems to be a little discrepancy over whether the suspension for the whole season makes 2016 his last year or is it still 2015. Be interesting to see. Maybe it's only one year left. it depends on whether they paid him for this week during the suspension. Team sources say he was not paid, which means he won't be eligible to be a UFA. He is a RFA. Next year. @ProFootballTalk: Multiple legal fights looming over Josh Gordon suspension, with his 2016 eligibility for free agency at stake http://t.co/Rq88ysfd5F Edited December 28, 2014 by YoloinOhio
NoSaint Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) He was suspended for the team's final game, so he ended up only playing five games this year. He needed to play at least six games to have accrued a season toward free agency. Which would leave him an RFA. It counts as a contract year but not an accrued season Edited December 28, 2014 by NoSaint
reddogblitz Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) Not no, but hell no. Edited December 28, 2014 by reddogblitz

Kelly the Dog Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 He is an RFA and is fighting to become a UFA. He signed a four year 5+ million dollar deal in July, 2012. Played in 2012-2014. He should still be under contract until after next year. It would only be two accrued seasons if they don't count this one.

Thanks KTD
Nick the Greek Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Then cut overrated Marquese Goodwin. YES!
Jkgobills Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I would trade a 5th for Gordon in a heartbeat. You have to get a little lucky to get over the top. If it doesn't work out it is Cyril Richardson. Agreed
PromoTheRobot Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Sure. We need someone to fill Mike Williams' role on the inactives.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Given his multitude of issues? @RyInCBus: Take it and run. RT @PatriotsSB49: "You're looking at a 5th round pick at best for Josh Gordon." -@FSOhioZJackson Browns are dying to get rid of him you mean Mike Williams Jr. no thanks
