filthymcnasty08 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Just wanted to be sure we took him off our XMas wish list as the sentiment around Big Blue fans and media is that an extension is a foregone conclusion. This article and fan comments is just one example but theres really nobody in the media here endorsing a full rebuild including QB. It figures…the Mara's are always on the sensible side of things. Probably, with the Rooneys, the best ownership in the game. http://www.bigbluevi...bout-the-giants Build an OL wall and get Sam Bradford - Bradford/Orton/EJ and draft pick in camp…may the least sucky man win (kidding)
Captain Hindsight Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Anyone who knows how the NFL works knew Eli wasn't going anywhere
klos63 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 With so few quality QB's around, it's absurd to think that a team with a solid one would let him go. Makes no sense. Especially with Eli.
Heels20X6 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Eli might not be the greatest regular season QB, but unlike his brother, he comes alive come playoff time. He's like the goalie who does enough to get your team into the playoffs as the 8th seed then goes 'God Mode' and takes you to the Stanley Cup Finals. No chance they were going to let him go.
dave mcbride Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Eli is having a good season. H's not the reason they're 6-9.
GG Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Eli is having a good season. H's not the reason they're 6-9. Actually he is. With Orton/EJ, they're a 2 win team.
dave mcbride Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Actually he is. With Orton/EJ, they're a 2 win team. Lol!

KD in CA Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 With so few quality QB's around, it's absurd to think that a team with a solid one would let him go. Makes no sense. Especially with Eli. Yup. There's a reason even guys like Flacco, Smith and Kaepernick are getting contracts in the $20MM+ / year range. It's because they're worth it. No QB = No hope.
Proteus Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 We just need to keep drafting one every year until we find a QB. Great QB's hit FA once a decade and then you have to convince them to come here. Time to stop ignoring the QB position. Nix was here for 4 drafts and drafted one in the 7th and then reached on Manuel because he backed himself into a corner. Completely unacceptable. If Whaley stays he has to take a guy in the 2nd or 3rd. If they really believe in Hundley trade the 2016 first to move up and get him. If Whaley is here and doesn't draft a QB on day 1 or 2, I will lose all faith in him.
RealityCheck Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 The QB position has lacked attrition for a long time. Why stock the whole team with as much talent as possible, just to go soft on the most important position on the team. That position needs to be as competitive as possible until a stud shows up. Then you have to continue having guys compete for the back-up spot. Every year there should at least be a brand new 3rd stringer to keep it going.
