He's not a Communist plant. He's an adherent to the doctrines of Scratch.

He can go right on ahead and get behind me.

No he's a globalist plant. He wants to get all the third world countries on board with the climate change scare. Decry capitalism. He's a puppet. Just another wealth redistributing prick. I bet you won't see the Catholic church giving up much of their bank.

ready or not here he comes! http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/popes-trip-ties-cuba-to-us-following-detente-that-he-aided/ar-AAeANPy?ocid=ansmsnnews11. seems he's not a big fan of communism, particularly Cuban style communism and isn't afraid to say so. I don't think he's afraid of much.

The pope avoided making overt political statements in Cuba, as dissidents had hoped he would, but used his homilies to send messages laced in spirituality about the need for change in the one-party Communist country.

He urged Cubans to think out of the box and be tolerant of other people's ideas. At a Mass on Monday for tens of thousands of people in the eastern city of Holguin, he urged his listeners "not to be satisfied with appearances or with what is politically correct."

More sad news for the Left.................

The papal-preshow has been so biased that Pope Francis offered this response when asked if he were liberal:

As Pope Francis flew to the United States for the first time, the pontiff assured journalists on the flight that he is not a liberal. Asked to comment on the many media outlets who are asking if the Pope is liberal,
the Pope seemed bemused and decisive.

“Some people might say some things sounded slightly more left-ish, but that would be a mistake of interpretation,”
he said before landing in the U.S. late Tuesday afternoon for his historic trip .
“If you want me to pray the creed, I’m willing to do it.”

In fact, many conservative Catholics adore Pope Francis. Ashley McGuire, a senior fellow with The Catholic Association, has these thoughts about the pontiff.

As a conservative Catholic, have I been challenged by Pope Francis? Sure. His admonis
hments about a “throwaway culture,” his challenge to go to the margins of society and to get outside the world of “dinners and receptions,” his constant refrain encouraging Catholics to accompany one another along life’s difficult journeys all have challenged me to the core. His focus on the environment, on immigration, on income inequality have caused me to think long and hard about where I stand on those issues and what I can do to help those who are suffering.

But c
ontrary to the narrative that Pope Francis is making someone like me worried about the direction of my church, I am energized about how to use my faith to shape the direction of my party. Pope Francis has made me confident and excited that I can bring the principles of my faith to the political arena in a way that improves my party and promotes the common good.

If there's one thing the left excels at, it's sorting people into boxes. Class, gender, race...they decide who you are.

So if they say the Pope's a liberal, he's a liberal.

Really...just the left? Tell me you don't actually believe what you just wrote....

Obama to Pope Francis: “We stand with you in defense of religious freedom”

The balls on this guy to even pay lip service to this subject in front of the Pope. Give me one example of the Obama administration going to the mat to expand religious freedom here or abroad.

*He fought Hobby Lobby and the Little Sisters of the Poor in court to make them provide contraception as part of their health-care plans notwithstanding their religious objections.

* He sits by and says nothing when small business owners are sued into oblivion by state AGs when they politely refuse to provide services to gay weddings on grounds that their faith doesn’t allow it. (Actual quote from the clip you’re about to watch: “People everywhere must be able to live out their faith free from fear and free from intimidation.”)

*He just made a deal with a theocratic Shiite regime that’s persecuting Sunnis in Syria, clearing the way for them to become a nuclear power in 15 years.

*He’s running a halfhearted war of token airstrikes against ISIS, an even greater persecutor of religious minorities, despite domestic and international clamor for him to do more.

What’s the big Obama legacy achievement on religious freedom that warrants him even mentioning this topic? Where’s the evidence that the overwhelmingly secular, statist national Democratic leadership views religious freedom as an important priority at all?

I think this globalist, socialist fraud should bring in a couple thousand "pilgrims" into the Vatican. Take away his security and see how the old fvck makes out. Although he might be down with them since they all seem to be into the pedophilia thing.

perhaps you should try to convince dante. he seems skeptical.

the reporter i read posting from the plane trip between cuba and dc emphasized the pope's insistence that he was following established catholic doctrine in his statements, including those judged "leftist" by so many americans especially american bishops and a particular cardinal (ba bye cardinal burke :)

i fully agree. it's not only catholic doctrine but all encompassing christian doctrine to look after the poor and sick, fight for the disenfranchised and dispossessed, respect the earth and embrace tolerance. call it what you will. he's on the right path.

This crossed my mind as well. The visit to the Sisters of the Poor was tremendous. I suspect the SoProgs who have eagerly been giving a pass to a Christian because of some comments are about to realize they didn't, once again, think something through.

watched the entire speech on cspan stream. it was as great as I expected. there were things that either side of the aisle would like and not like but he stuck to church theology as he has been continuously saying. it's true. he doesn't see left and right. he sees morally correct. he is a great man. the question is "did he change anyones heart today?" i'll wager he did.

And this surprises you coming from the Pope why exactly?

I caught the snippet where he talked about breaking out of polarization and paralysis. About time someone stood up and told Congress that.

Sadly, I doubt they'll listen. Odds are each party will somehow claim "ownership" of the Pope's statements, and things will become more polarized.

already happening. compare the reporting of the speech on msnbc and fox specifically regarding respect for all life. fox leaves out the death penalty which was specifically mentioned and msnbc leaves out condemnation of abortion which was implicit.

And this surprises you coming from the Pope why exactly?

it doesn't surprise me. it makes me thankful that he champions and speaks out on moral teachings that others dare not discuss because they might be seen as too far from the mainstream. many of his predecessors feared doing that more for positions that coincidentsally align with the left but not so much with those on the right. neither seem to be a consideration to him yet consequently many see him as leftist.
