SJDK Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Bay Area here, he's going to Michigan. It's pretty much a done deal.
eball Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 If Harbaugh to Michigan is true, that's very good news. Didn't want him winding up in Miami.
YoloinOhio Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 If Harbaugh to Michigan is true, that's very good news. Didn't want him winding up in Miami. Miami owner said Philbin is safe. Yay!
PromoTheRobot Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 He just punted from the AZ 39 down by 3 in the 4th quarter.
Mr. WEO Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Sounds exactly like the kind of guy the Bills look for
Big Gun Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Sounds exactly like the kind of guy the Bills look for
Buffalo_Stampede Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Sounds exactly like the kind of guy the Bills look for you mean sounds like every coach in the NFL. It's league wide thing. There is strategy to it. It's called field position. But I think if you trust your D to get you the ball right back why not trust them to stop the other team on a short field.
Augie Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Sounds crazy, but I'm not a fan of the guy. Yes, I know he's done a lot of winning.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Sounds crazy, but I'm not a fan of the guy. Yes, I know he's done a lot of winning. He had one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. They were loaded everywhere.
Nick the Greek Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Having faith in your defense to stop the other team's offence? Can you blame Marrone for this? We were legit nasty this year. Hopefully next years D will be just as good.
Cotton Fitzsimmons Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 you mean sounds like every coach in the NFL. It's league wide thing. There is strategy to it. It's called field position. But I think if you trust your D to get you the ball right back why not trust them to stop the other team on a short field. YE OLE concurs, my good friend! The worst part of the field position battle that seems to get guys like Marrone so jazzed is how little is gained. The fact is every time he elects to punt around the opponents 40 yard line we end up with a touchback OR Schmidt's latest trick is pooching it down there to force a fair catch right around the 18-19 yard line. Who cares about that? If we actually got the opposition pinned down down around their own goal line I could see the benefit. The problem is it's a lot higher percentage that you pick up 4th and 1 than down a punt inside the 5. It kind of gets back to Marrone punting down 2 scores late in the game. Better chance of getting a first down there than recovering an onside kick.
Endless Ike Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 How many yards to go on the 4th down? Shh. stop being reasonable
Dragonborn10 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Culture matters. Harbaugh's culture apparently creates unrest in the building and it finally has shown on the field. His personality is toxic. Might work in college where the players can't be around him as much. But not in the NFL.
Augie Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 He had one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. They were loaded everywhere. I mean prior to this year. Hard to argue his success in college and pros, but I still don't like him.
ExiledInIllinois Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 It is only a 56 yard FG try... 55 if they cheat (on the hold) a little. Dan the Man could make it. Boy do I wish we had him in Tampa from 47 yards away!
YoloinOhio Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 @BruceFeldmanCFB: A bargain for #Michigan RT @Johnubacon: BREAKING: Straight from UM AD Jim Hackett. Harbaugh's salary will be roughly $5M a year.
