Sojourner Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 The 80s style philosophy - force an inside running game, bemoan the risk of turnovers, punt, play field position - is just brutal. There's no question it hurts us, it costs us marginal wins, and especially hurts us when playing against teams with superior talent. The entire game now is: make big plays, go for big plays, eat some turnovers as a cost of doing business (so to speak), maximize # of offensive plays, get the downfield flags, etc. Even so, what kills us is the QB play. Keep the great defense, keep the great O-line ... my kingdom for a great QB. These days, it's the great QB that makes everyone else look good, not vice-versa. The Bills organization and myself look forward to your application for the future Head Coach vacancy.
Bills Realist Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 we were down by two with over 8 minutes to go punting was smart there. our Defense letting them score cost us at that point. If you have half a brain, you realize that the defense isn't doing well so you go for it on 4th and 1 to try and increase your teams chance of winning. That's common sense for many...but not Moron.
Sojourner Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 If I'm Whaley/Pegula, I tell him that he punted away his job on that play. Ooo-La-La!
DJasper Probincrux III Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Can there be any other reason better than this to fire this staff? Keep the defensive staff - return no one on the offensive side- Twice this year the defense had a 3rd and long needing the ball back to have a chance to win. Twice they sent 3 men. Twice they gave up the first down. KC and again today.

4BillsintheBurgh Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Reminded me of Trentative days. Once the plays from the opening drive were exhausted, may as well turn out the lights. I wonder if there's a trend this year. Usually the first plays are scripted and I wonder if the yards per play changes significantly after a certain number of plays.
