3rdnlng Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 The one thing Buffalo should get right they don't......ice. Too warm? I have a friend who posted pics of her and her daughters skating in downtown LA. It was 80 degrees. There's a temperature requirement for roller blades?
ExiledInIllinois Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Hey... LA is where the Zamboni was invented. It has always been a good skating/hockey town (FWIW) since the 1967 expansion (Kings). But not as good as BFLO.
Chef Jim Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 B word, B word, B word, B word, B word, B word, B word... You obviously have big issues with WNY. Duly noted once again. Go skate in LA if that's what makes you happy. Hopefully an earthquake doesn't knock a jumbotron on your inflated Cali-loving head. Bring some O2 in case the smog starts to get to you. B word?? No. Laugh....laugh...laugh. We don't worry about earthquakes or smog here. They happen here a hell of a less often as snow, sleet, and crap weather that other places have.

Chef Jim Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 But you get far more hippies. Of course, Buffalo gets far more Canadians. So that's kind-of a wash. I'd actually take hippies over Canadiens. At least hippies don't talk funny eh?
Azalin Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I'd actually take hippies over Canadiens. At least hippies don't talk funny eh? In defense of Canadians, at least they bathe, and most of the women shave their underarms.
DC Tom Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I'd actually take hippies over Canadiens. At least hippies don't talk funny eh? Most Canadians don't smell like patchouli and burning leaves, or bang drums and chant.
Chef Jim Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Yes but hippies are much easier to spot from a distance so you can easily avoid them.

Can be seen from @ least 70 paces. That's about 200 feet. Ooops sorry. 60 meters. Ooops sorry. 60 metres. ;-P

You've got to love that the picture for the article about solar panel manufacturing is a cloudy day.

Subsidized solar works. -solyndra I have a problem where I read elsewhere that a lot of the contracts and RFQs for the project were written in a way that only companies very friendly to Cuomo were able to bid on the projects. To me it's just a giant government sanctioned money laundering operation. Ultimately I hope it succeeds but it has potentially a dubious foundation. Curious where Sheldon silver's conviction goes if any dirt comes out here. Either way....Pegulas frac money is doing a fine job transforming downtown on his own.
Gene Frenkle Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 You've got to love that the picture for the article about solar panel manufacturing is a cloudy day. Because it's very important to have a lot of sunlight when manufacturing solar panels... Why can't you traitors ex-pats* just let us have nice things? Oh, right, it has to do with "green energy". I keep forgetting how bad that is.

Well think of terrible side effects of decarbonization like less lung and heart disease also a decoupling from the Middle East, Russia, and Venezuela

DC Tom Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I get jokes, buddy. I just prefer funny ones. It's pretty damn funny to promote "The solar industry is coming to Buffalo!" with a picture of a rainy day.
birdog1960 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 It's pretty damn funny to promote "The solar industry is coming to Buffalo!" with a picture of a rainy day. except that npr isn't promoting anything. they're reporting on the potential benefits versus risks to this massive experiment.
Gene Frenkle Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 It's pretty damn funny to promote "The solar industry is coming to Buffalo!" with a picture of a rainy day. It would just be a lot funnier if it were a solar harvesting plant. Everybody's a critic, right?
