PFT’s Week 16 picks

Bills at Raiders

MDS’s take: The Bills probably won’t make the playoffs even if they win out, but beating the Raiders will clinch Buffalo’s first winning record since 2004. This Bills team is making progress.

MDS’s pick: Bills 17, Raiders 10.

Florio’s take: By beating the Packers, Doug Marrone may have saved his job for at least a year. He could secure it for the rest of the decade by securing the team’s first playoff berth since 1999.

Florio’s pick: Bills 24, Raiders 14.

Prisco is such a Bills hater and all of his game picks would hurt us in playoff scenarios as well. Hes pretty useless with his analysis

someone was re tweeting some of his tweets from when Trestman was hired with the bears last night and it was hilarious. He was saying how great of a match he and Cutler were, Cutler would be MVP and the Bears an SB favorite.

Yea it just shows you how useless and stupid he is. And to think, that guy probably makes a big fat salary every year....

Do we still need to use quotes around the word "experts" when they're almost all picking Buffalo?

Yes because they are still anything but experts.

Also added Nate Silvers information in original post.

The experts may be on to something. You have to remember this is Buffalo and we really haven't shown we are not the same old Bills. The same old Bills go out and get beat 30something to 16. The same old Bills go to NE and are up 20-13 heading in to the 3rd Q and lose 41-16.

This game could suck.

@DonBanks

Other than old reliables NE, Indy and Denver in AFC, we know very little yet about the playoff field. Week 16 picks: http://www.si.com/nf...es-predictions

Doug Marrone saved Buffalo’s season when he switched quarterbacks from EJ Manuel to Kyle Orton in October, and getting to eight wins with a great shot at a winning record should be plenty enough improvement to earn Marrone a third season on the job. The Raiders have won their past two at home, beating clubs that had winning records at the time (Chiefs and 49ers), so the Bills will have to work to get to 9-6 and stay alive in the AFC wild-card race. But having something to play for in Week 17 hasn’t occurred in Buffalo since 2004, and that Bills defense will get the job done one more time in 2014.

 4 point reduction!

69% from Silver seems a little low to me. I have been getting closer to 80% on the Simulator I use.

I don't have any problem with someone picking the Raiders... they've won their last two home games, against teams which match the Bills in talent.

not that I think the Raiders are terrible, I don't. Those two games though are interesting in that the KC game was TNF and I don't put much stock into those outcomes. KC flew out west on a short week and they are a huge rival. Raiders still barely won. SF is another big rival and their offense is worse than the Bills. SF also got zero pressure on Carr in that game.

They have some significant injuries going into this game as well.

Tuel wouldnt handle this team. Defense and ST will take the cake on this matchup.

Hey, you don't have to convince me, I just have no problems with "experts" taking a "chance" on the Raiders, due to their recent home history. :)
