ShelfromNJ Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 What do you think about designing a few plays for E J to run? It would definitely surprise other teams. We could use the no huddle offense. It might really confuse the Pats and give a spark to the offense.
Kelly the Dog Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 That very rarely works. That said, on third or fourth and short, or goal line situations, he may be a lot better for this offense to go in and run roll outs, or bootlegs, or read options, or just scramble his way for first downs or Tds, or even QB sneaks. I think that might be a decent idea considering that Orton can't move and we don't have great short yardage blocking. Orton would hate it but he can't move and he's playing like crap which is the only reason to consider it.
K D Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 EJ in the wildcat. Run it a few plays vs the Raiders. Then vs the Pats run it once and then next time have the TE block down and then roll off the block and he will be wide open for the pass. Gray would be the perfect guy to run this play with
ShelfromNJ Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 I think that Kelly the Dog is right. I hope somebody from the Bill's office considers our ideas.
Matt in KC Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I only see up-side, assuming EJ looks like he can run the plays well in practice. Are we concerned he might get hurt, that he might fail, that he might succeed?
Deranged Rhino Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 This coaching staff spent the first year with EJ teaching him not to run. Just saying.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 At this point, I would be open to lining up just about anybody behind center. Is Kiko healthy yet?
Maury Ballstein Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Anything that entails less orton is a win.

papazoid Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 at this point it's in EJ's best interest to NOT play this year. Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt Better to remain on the bench and be thought a starter than to play and remove all doubt.
Kelly the Dog Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Yeah, because he was doing all of those things before he got benched... For his career, on the goal line he has been pretty good. I'm only talking 1-2 yard plays.
Maury Ballstein Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 (edited) Yeah, because he was doing all of those things before he got benched... None of this happened. Holy smokes at the 1 min mark. What a run and td strike to stevie ! Free ej !! Edited December 16, 2014 by Ryan L Billz
Buffalo Boy Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Anything that entails less orton is a win. Hah!!! 😝
Hot Buffalo Wings Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Yeah, because he was doing all of those things before he got benched... Did it in Chicago...Shhhhhhhhhh
Mr. WEO Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 None of this happened. http://youtube.com/watch?v=VBDqyq_6Oc0 Holy smokes at the 1 min mark. What a run and td strike to stevie ! Free ej !! That happened a year ago. Then he was benched this season. It's a nice highlight reel with some nice passes and things..but it wasn't a lot of this: " run roll outs, or bootlegs, or read options, or just scramble his way for first downs or Tds". Did it in Chicago...Shhhhhhhhhh LOL
Rivermont Mike Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Anything that entails less orton is a win. That's like "more cowbell," only different.
Maury Ballstein Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Whatever it is. It looks better than the Ortonian ghost pass rusher show. If orton can't bring stability and accuracy might as well lean on #3
