YoloinOhio Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Can someone get Sammy a new pair of cleats? Anyone else notice him falling down on routes??
Deranged Rhino Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Can someone get Sammy a new pair of cleats? Anyone else notice him falling down on routes?? It looked like he changed cleats twice and it made no difference. So strange.
Mango Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I've noticed a that we slip a bunch at home. Sammy more than others, but we do. Regardless of the Pegula's meddling or lack there of, this is a pro in having them. I'd like a new field. Id actually like to go to grass. Less injuries.

Hard to believe it already needs replacement.
Webster Guy Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 whatever it was, it needs to be addressed. cleat change, more practicing on the stadium turf instead of the fieldhouse, whatever. sammy is our best offensive weapon, he cant be falling like that.
Deranged Rhino Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Personally I put it on the equipment managers.

It would help if they practiced on the field they play on...but, NOooooo, they go in the dome. Sammy did slip a lot in the GB game, and made another bunch of mistakes like penalities (downfield blocking, snap count wrong) and quiting on routes. I am not seeing the big hype for Sammy being all straight, I think they are marketing to some substantial degree.

It also helps that Brady is slightly less super human on grass versus turf.

Pirate Angel Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 It also helps that Brady is slightly less super human on grass versus turf. they haven't lost on that turf in like 53 games or something crazy. Seems still super human

Dorkington Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Someone who makes hard cuts playing on a turf field while it's drizzling... not too worried, not surprising at all.
Wayne Cubed Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Didn't look like he slipped so much as the 2 throws were piss poor. He was attempting to at least try to catch the ball but the first throw looked like it was going to land 3 yards in front of Sammy so he had to quick stop and launch for it. The second throw was at least 2 yards in front of him and 3 yards to his right. Again attempted to catch the ball.
Not at the table Karlos Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 If the turf gets even slightly wet it becomes very slippery. Any cuts at speed are very tough.
Wooderson Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 It wasn't just him, there were some other points in the game where players from both teams were slipping.
TheBillsWillRiseAgain Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Some of his falls seemed on purpose to avoid contact. Kinda concerned me.
Deranged Rhino Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Some of his falls seemed on purpose to avoid contact. Kinda concerned me. None of his falls were for that reason.
TheBillsWillRiseAgain Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 How in the world do you know that? I've seen him do it numerous times this season. he didn't trip. He didn't stumble. He caught the ball and then just fell forward right before contact.

Deranged Rhino Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 How in the world do you know that? Because I was at the game. He slipped coming out of breaks because the turfwas wet and his cleats were terrible. There wasn't a fear of contact last Sunday -- he fell before there was a guy even in striking distance.
